GEIRANGER ELECTRO FESTIVAL
at Jakob´s farm 15.-16 July
Once again we are ready to blow off some rooftops with the highlight of the season, a two day electro bonanza, featuring the always present Olle Abstract and introducing to Geiranger DJs Ravi Brunsvik and Marius Sommerfeldt, aka “De Fantastiske To”.
The party will kick-off on Friday the 15th of July with a beer-cruise on our fabulous fjord, courtesy of our very own Geiranger Brewery. A perfectly idyllic setting for drinking good beer and chilling out; the best cure there is! Funky beats and happy tunes will be provided by Olle Abstract throughout the cruise. Do NOT miss this! After some hours cruising the fjord we will head up to the festival area where we will continue spreading the summer-vibes to the l***y rhythms of “De Fantastiske To”.
On Saturday the 16th we will begin with some mellow tunes before turning up the heat as darkness approaches. Even the happiest of campers needs fuel, so there will be the possibility of barbecuing whatever catches your fancy, giving you the boost you need to dance until the wee wee hours!
Some information about our DJs:
Olle Abstract ought to be familiar to most of us by now. This is the third time he heads up to Geiranger from his base in Oslo. Renowned as one of the pioneers in the Norwegian House scene, he has provided the beats both off and on the radio to many a raging party, and for the last two years he has played his beat-filled groovy house for us here in Geiranger. Joining him on stage this time around are DJs Ravi Brunsvik and Marius Sommerfeldt, better known as “De fantastiske To”. Both competent record collectors , producers and renowned DJs in Oslo´s club-scene. Their productions are often described as modern club music with a twist of oldschool , where rhythm boxes, acid generators and jazzy rhodes meets the dance floor. The common love they have for house music of the rhythmical form, has already resulted in one EP and a 12 "on British Paper recordings. This summer they are releasing new tracks and remixes for the seminal British label Paperrecordings, African soulful house label «Antidotes» and Swedish deephouse-label Trunkfunk .
Some practical information:
Festival camp: you will have the possibility of putting up your tent around the barn. If you have a hammock you can find a spot inside the barn.
There are toilet and shower facilities for those staying in the festival camp.
The festival is free of charge, but any donations for the development of the concept and the facilities are most welcome.
The Geiranger beer-cruise is not free of charge. More information on a later stage.
Buses will take you to and from the festival area. A detailed schedule will be published in due course.
If you drive, parking is at Korsmyra, just a short walk from the farm, in the direction of Eidsdal.
We are trying to arrange a hike to a nearby mountain top on Saturday if you feel the need to burn some calories from Friday’s shenanigans.
Geiranger Bakery will offer freshly made cinnamon buns as a late night snack and equally fresh baguettes for breakfast.
