Is it just me, or do female bankers sometimes act like they’re allergic to humility?

Honestly, I’ve experienced this more than once. It’s like the moment they set eyes on you, they quickly size you up maybe by your outfit, your tone, or your face and suddenly decide how to treat you.

It’s something I’ve noticed a lot, and to be honest, it doesn’t sit well with me.

So today, I went to the bank to do a transfer. I met this lady at the counter, greeted her, and told her what I came for. She directed me to where I’d get the transfer form. I filled it, walked back, and handed it to her with a smile.

The next thing I heard was,
“Madam, where’s your date?” in that official but harsh tone.

I smiled again, apologized, and added the date.

Then she said, “Madam, where are you transferring this money to?”

I was like, “Ah ah, it’s there now.”
She said, “You’re supposed to write it in the upper space.”

At that point, I just took a deep breath and murmured to myself, ‘This woman must be working with anger management issues this morning.’ 😩

Anyway, I corrected everything and gave it back to her.

Then out of nowhere, she looked at me closely and said,
“Ogolo… are you from Opobo?”

I said yes. She went, “Ah! So why are you answering Ogechi?

You’re too beautiful to bear Ogechi o. You should be answering Nwayioma or Achalugo!”

I burst into laughter. 😂
I told her, “Madam, please o, don’t insult my name. Ogechi people are fine people too. You’re just meeting one today.”

She laughed so hard. I even told her my Ibanini name is Engiwari, which means “Mother of the House.”
From there, the tension just disappeared.

We ended up joking and laughing. She even told me not to change my skin color because it’s beautiful the way it is. I told her, “Ah, we’re almost the same complexion. I love my color just the way it is.”

Before I knew it, the woman who was Madam Madam-ing me up and down became my gist partner. 😂

Moral of the story:
Never be quick to look down on anyone. You don’t know who’s standing in front of you.

People tend to judge others based on looks, but that’s a wrong mindset cause beauty, wisdom, and value don’t always wear designer clothes or loud makeup. Sometimes, they come quietly, dressed in simplicity and grace.

Meanwhile I’m a food vendor and your sure plug for soup,stew and rice in bowls.

🎉 TIMEY’S TASTY TREAT IS 1 YEAR OLD TODAY! 🎉

Exactly one year ago, I took a bold step to launch my brand Timey’s Tasty Treat.

Cooking homemade soups, stews, and meals for busy families, individuals, and events. 💚

I started with nothing but my love for cooking, my faith in God, and a heart full of dreams.

It hasn’t been easy,there were sleepless nights, early morning markets, missed classes, and countless moments I could have given up.

But I stayed. I kept going.

Today, I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m grateful for how far God has brought me. 🙏

This one year has taught me that consistency and faith work wonders.

I’m celebrating every small win, every loyal customer, every milestone because they all matter.

Here’s to more delicious meals, more growth, and more amazing moments.
