CJN IBRAHIM TANKO'S TWO SONS WIN TICKETS OF APC, PDP AFTER DISTRIBUTING VEHICLES TO DELEGATES
The two sons of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, have emerged as the Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, respectively in Bauchi State.
Siraj Ibrahim Tanko won the senatorial ticket of the ruling party for Bauchi North, while his brother Sani Ibrahim Tanko, won that of the opposition party to represent Shira/Giade federal constituency in Bauchi State at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
It was gathered by SaharaReporters that the duo, alleged to have access to public funds, distributed expensive vehicles to partiesβ delegates before the primaries.
Siraj, who won the APC senatorial ticket polled 189 votes to defeat other aspirants, including the incumbent senator who scored no vote last Saturday, according to sources.
It was also gathered that they use their father's position to employ members of their political parties to the Supreme Court, National Judicial Institute, Judicial Commission.
βThey distributed over 150 vehicles; what jobs are they doing to have money to buy such expensive cars? And same CJN do sit on corruption cases whereas his sons are spending anyhow without known sources of income," a source revealed.
Meanwhile, the Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has called for the prosecution of political looters in the country.
The Igbo youth group in a statement said the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), could do for Nigerians to leave an indelible mark is to jail all political looters in the country before he leaves office in 2023.
The group also called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, to revisit the 7.1bn money laundering case of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate and former Governor of Abia State.
