Both are similar in form.The "Okuku" (traditional Benin Hairdo) of the Queen is different and réserved for Royalty only.

The Queen's wrappers are mostly hand woven and her coral jewellery is laden with culture and history passed down from generations before her.

The Benin bride's apparel is inspired by the Queen's. Her wrapper is mostly a wine coloured velvet fabric,sometimes adjourned with faux or real coral. She is equally a Beauty for the eyes to behold.

These days,some Benin brides prefer a well embellished red carpet-worthy wine red dress with Okuku. Some use a veil ,while others do not.
