Waste Management Way forward In Edo State. Issues if waste management is for all Edo citizens to resolve. It must be people driven. It is public private driven worldwide. It is the newest economic sector worldwide. It is one of the largest employers of labour and revenue generator. It enhances good health and hygiene. It reduces cost of medicare. Its negative effect is no respecter of persons. Its one major cause of epidemics leading to lose of lives. The future is very bright. We must not loose the gain we had so far. It is generators liability in payment as no govt worldwide have been able to fund it free. The investors fund recovery must be consider for its sustainability. Issues of waste management is not in exclusive list but an area where federal, state, local govts and individuals can function. The laws on public health and nuisance are clear regarding its enforcement. The people need to cooperate with govts at all level to ensure cleanliness, good sanitation and good health. The issue in court is becoming academic, technical and vindictive. Let's join hands together to make Edo clean and in process create source of livelihood for our citizens. Govt are not good in running business hence involvement of private sector. Every threat and weakness of present modality must be handle with care while the strength is enhance and opportunities it present utilized to its fulliest. Waste management is capital intensive and is a serious business for patient investors and like any other business should be profitable. Govt and individuals should owe Dumpsite following scientific way of management. We must grow past just waste collections and disposal to level of waste recycling putting value on waste assets for waste generators instead of liability.
