ONTINUATION OF HOW MY WEDDING WAS CANCELLED 😭...(Part 4)
Before the wedding preparations continued,
the introduction finally started.
Everyone was seated.
My family was there.
The two men he brought were there too.
Then it was time for him to introduce himself properly
and explain why his parents were absent.
That was when he told everyone
that his father was sick.
He said his father works at sea,
and his mother stayed back to take care of him.
He also said his father told them
to call him on the phone during the introduction
so he could give his consent for everything to continue.
At that moment,
it sounded serious and believable.
So they tried calling the father.
But the number was not connecting.
Still… the introduction continued.
Everything was done successfully.
Then another issue came up.
He said he wanted them to give him “list quickly
because he would return in less than two months for the wedding.
But my father said no.
He said,
“It is your father and I that are supposed to discuss that.”
But he kept insisting.
He said his father already approved everything
and told them to collect it because he was a responsible man.
And honestly…
my father liked him.
The way he talked…
the respect he gave…
the calmness he carried himself with…
made my father trust him.
So my father finally agreed.
After everything,
they both went behind the house to talk privately.
My father even reduced many things for him.
Because according to my father,
“I am not selling my daughter.”
He told him to do according to his ability.
After the introduction,
we all left for the hotel
because my place in the city could not contain everybody.
But even while we were there…
my mind was not settled.
I still kept wondering…
Why didn’t his parents come?
I asked him again.
But he kept telling me not to worry.
He said I would meet them very soon.
Then finally…
he fixed a date for me to meet his family.
At that time,
the wedding was already very close.
Less than one month left.
He had already started sending money
for wedding items.
He even told my mom
to help him buy things from our side
because of the distance.
He said his own family would come with the remaining things.
Everything still looked normal.
Then one day,
he told me his younger brother was getting married.
And he said that would be the perfect opportunity
for me to finally meet everybody.
He said all his family members would be around for the wedding.
I felt relieved.
Finally…
I was going to meet his people.
So we prepared for the journey.
And truly…
it was a very long journey.
A journey…
I almost did not survive.
