Educating my readers is one of the reasons I write. For the little years I've spent in the fashion industry,I see lots of people call a tailor a fashion designer while some tailors introduce themselves as fashion designers. In this article,I would differentiate between the two and some other little things in the fashion industry

W̼h̼o̼ ̼i̼s̼ ̼a̼ ̼T̼a̼i̼l̼o̼r̼?̼

A tailor is a person(male or female) who is focused at sewing , cutting, amending and making clothes using a sewing machine and following a laid down pattern.

Furthermore, a tailor can also be called a needle pusher, garment maker, dress maker.

A female tailor can also be called a seamstress or a tailoress.

𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙚𝙧?

A fashion designer is a person (male or female) who designs clothes professionally using sketches, drawings etc. Fashion designers are in charge of Fashion drawings, pattern drafting etc.... After making a design, a fashion designer gives it to a tailor to express it in out using fabrics.

A fashion designer can also function as a tailor but few tailors are fashion designers.

Fashion Design(er) shouldn't be mistaken as a synonymous or formal word for tailor.

I'm a tailor, and a fashion stylist.(in my next article I would explain who fashion stylists are)
