*OGUI, MY GOOD AND LOVELY PEOPLE,*
It is unfortunate that His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, *Barr. Peter Mbah*, recently appointed *One Hundred and Eighteen (118) Special Assistants* without a single person who is born or brought up in Ogui Township being considered.
This is unfair.
We all know that in the past, Ogui people have always been included in governance because we excel in everything we do. I can recall that even before the war, *Sir Fred Agu (Fred Okporoko)* from Amokwe in Udi was the first Administrator and Councilor of Ogui Township. We also had many of our sons given appointments, like the former Principal of Nike Grammar School, *Mr. C.O.C. Chidozie*, who was later appointed as a Member of the Education Board, and so many others.
We all know that those born and brought up in Ogui excel in everything we do.
I ask: Does it mean that Ogui no longer has capable people? Even among those of us who are into politics, does it mean that we are not qualified? Is it that the government now sees us as *THUGS* who are not worthy of holding any government position?
In the past, no government appointment was made without Ogui people being fully involved. People like *Dr. Joshua Onoh, Col. Aneke, Capt. Osondu, Group Capt. Emeka Omerua* and many others all carried Ogui along.
The reason I am saying this is because it seems as if we no longer have people. They look down on us. So I appeal to everyone to be careful and not allow them to use you or your children as *THUGS* in the upcoming elections.
I am saying this out of experience as a one-time Deputy Governorship aspirant in Anambra State.
This is why I am hammering on this issue of thuggery โ because I do not want us to lose anyone.
*A stitch in time saves nine.*
*SHUN THUGGERY! SHUN THUGGERY!! SHUN THUGGERY!!!*
