On June 28th, Jonas Erastus stepped into the ring in London to face Alfie Clegg (UK) for the Commonwealth Silver Title.
After 10 intense rounds, the fight went to the judges, and even though Jonas didn’t get the decision, he earned the world’s respect.
He fought with courage, class, and pride — representing Namibia with everything he had.

SHORTY ERASTUS EDGED OUT IN LONDON — FALLS JUST SHORT OF COMMONWEALTH GLORY
Namibia’s rising flyweight star Jonas “Shorty” Erastus tasted defeat for the first time in his professional career, narrowly losing on points to the undefeated British prospect Alfie Clegg in a 10-round battle for the vacant Commonwealth Silver Flyweight title on Saturday night in London.
In what proved to be a tactical, high-tempo contest, Clegg made full use of his home advantage, ring IQ, and sharp combinations to keep Erastus at bay, earning a unanimous decision victory.
The 24-year-old Salute Boxing product now holds a record of 9 wins and 1 loss. While the title slipped through his fingers this time.
