Meowbulous Cat Club Selangor is pleased to present another educational initiative in collaboration with Royal Canin Malaysia and CATDAY bringing WCF education closer to our local cat community.

This time, we are honoured to welcome Peter Toth, WCF All Breed Judge and 2nd Vice President of the World Cat Federation, for an afternoon focused on the details that truly matter in responsible breeding and the show ring.

🇲🇾 MEOWBULOUS AT THE WCF GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2026 🌍

A meaningful milestone for Meowbulous Cat Club Selangor.

We were honoured to represent our club and Malaysia at the WCF General Assembly 2026 in Germany, joining WCF clubs and delegates from around the world.

For us, attending the General Assembly was more than simply being present. It was an opportunity to understand WCF better, participate in discussions on its future, learn about important developments and rule changes, and build stronger connections with the international WCF community.

Most importantly, we returned home with more knowledge, more connections, and an even clearer direction for what we want to build in Malaysia.

From organising WCF shows, to breeder and exhibitor education, seminars and community initiatives, we believe a strong club should not only organise events it should continue learning, improving and bringing that knowledge back to its members.

🇲🇾 We went to Germany representing Meowbulous.
🏠 We came home ready to do more for our community.

🐱 UNDERSTANDING WCF SHOW CLASSES

“Which category is my cat competing in?”
This is one of the most common questions for new exhibitors!

In WCF Traditional Judging, cats are organised into the appropriate competition according to several factors it’s not simply all cats competing against all cats.

📅 AGE CLASS
Under the current 2026 Show Rules:

🐾 Kitten: 3–6 months
🐾 Junior: 6–10 months
🐾 Adult: 10 months & above
🏅 Veteran: over 8 years, where applicable

✂️ HAIR CATEGORY

WCF recognises five hair categories for show purposes:

LH — Longhair
SLH — Semi-Longhair
SH — Shorthair
SIA/ORI — Siamese/Oriental
HL — Hairless

🏆 ENTIRE OR NEUTERED?

Entire cats progress through the Champion pathway, while neutered cats progress through the corresponding Premior pathway.

Understanding the correct class is important because it determines where your cat competes and which certificate it may be eligible to receive.

📌 IMPORTANT: WCF age classifications will change from 1 January 2027, so always check the rules applicable to the date of your show.

Once you know where your cat belongs, following the rest of the show becomes much easier. 💙

🐾 **WCF SHOW MECHANICS 101 — 04**
🌍 **HOW DO I EARN MY NEXT WCF TITLE?**

Getting a certificate is only the first step — to complete a WCF title, your cat must fulfil the required **certificates, judges and countries**.

Here’s the basic progression for non-neutered cats:

🏅 **CH — Champion**
3 × CAC • 3 different judges

🌏 **ICH — International Champion**
3 × CACIB • 3 different judges • 2 countries

🌏 **GICH — Grand International Champion**
3 × CAGCIB • 3 different judges • 2 countries

🌍 **ECH — European / Continental Champion**
3 × CACE • 3 different judges • 3 countries

🌍 **GECH — Grand European / Continental Champion**
3 × GCACE • 3 different judges • 3 countries

🌎 **WCH — World Champion**
3 × CACM • 3 different judges • 3 countries, with one certificate obtained on another continent

The Premior pathway for neutered cats follows the corresponding certificate and geographical requirements.

🏝️ **WHAT ABOUT ISLAND SHOWS?**

WCF has special provisions for qualifying island shows. Under the applicable conditions, travelling between the mainland and an eligible island of the same country may count toward the international geographical requirement.

That’s why it is important to look beyond just **“How many certificates do I have?”**

Always check:

**CERTIFICATES ✓ JUDGES ✓ COUNTRIES ✓ CONTINENT ✓**

before submitting your title claim.

🏅 CERTIFICATES & TITLES: WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

Got your judge’s report… but wondering what CAC, CACIB, CAGCIB or CACM actually mean? 👀

In WCF Traditional Judging, cats compete in the appropriate show class, and the certificate awarded depends on the title your cat is currently working towards.

🏆 For non-neutered cats:
KCH → JCH → CH → ICH → GICH → ECH → GECH → WCH

💚 For neutered cats (Premior titles):
KPR → JPR → PR → IPR → GIPR → EPR → GEPR → WPR

Certificates are the building blocks toward these official WCF titles — but receiving one certificate does not automatically mean the title is completed.

Depending on the title, you will need to fulfil the required number of certificates, judges and countries according to the WCF Show Rules.

📌 Keep your original certificates safely.
You will need them when claiming your cat’s title.

🏆 TRADITIONAL JUDGING: WHAT HAPPENS TO MY CAT?

For new exhibitors, Traditional Judging is one of the most important parts of a WCF show to understand.

So what actually happens when your cat is called?

📣 1. CAT IS CALLED
Be ready when your cat is called for judging.

🐱 2. INDIVIDUAL JUDGING
Your cat is presented to the judge and evaluated individually.

📋 3. EVALUATION
The judge evaluates your cat according to the applicable WCF Breed Standard.

📝 4. JUDGE’S REPORT
Your cat receives a written evaluation and result.

🏅 5. RESULT & CERTIFICATE
Where applicable, your cat may receive the certificate required for its current show class and title progression.

⭐ 6. NOM BIS — IF SELECTED
After individual judging, the judge may nominate your cat for Best in Show (NOM BIS).

Remember:

NOM BIS does NOT mean your cat has already won BIS.
It means your cat has been selected to proceed to the Best in Show competition.

Traditional Judging is also separate from Modern Ring — a cat can have completely different results in each competition.

🐾 NEW TO WCF? START HERE!

One of the first things every new exhibitor should understand is that a WCF show has two different competition paths that you may commonly see:

🏆 TRADITIONAL JUDGING
This is the main WCF judging system.

Your cat is individually evaluated by a judge according to the WCF standard.

Judging → Result / Certificate → NOM BIS (if nominated) → Best in Show → Best of Best (where applicable)

This is the pathway connected to your cat’s certificates and titles.

⭐ MODERN RING
This is a separate competition.

Cats enter the appropriate Ring category, are evaluated together and the judge selects the finalists and ranked placements.

Ring Entry → Ring Judging → Finalists → Ranking

📌 IMPORTANT FOR NEW EXHIBITORS

Traditional Judging ≠ Modern Ring

Your Ring result does not replace your Traditional Judging result, and your Traditional Judging result does not determine your Ring placement.

A cat may participate in both at the same show when offered.

Once you understand these two paths, the rest of the WCF show becomes much easier to follow. 💙
