Good afternoon neighbors of the most enthusiastic neighborhood,
It is on a day like today that the May Festivities of the Parish of Santa Cruz. 2022 should be commencing. However for the THIRD consecutive year they are again being suspended as far as the cultural part is concerned. This means that there will be no stage or outside celebration out of the religious ceremonies. This time it will not be due to the pandemic, but by instructions from the current Father in charge of our parish, who intends that the celebration be merely religious to reinforce this part.
10 years ago I started with the idea of rescuing this tradition and evolving it. This was achieved with years of hard work and without the sale of alcohol by the organizers (as it happens in other places). The intention was to benefit local businesses, while keeping everything as healthy, family oriented and cultural as possible while including the liturgical part. With the help of the apostolic groups of the church and the many Sponsors, who supported us, we were able to overcome all the obstacles and difficulties that came our way.
At all times I carefully selected each and every performance of national and international artists that were on stage, to promote wholesome entertainment, at no cost, for the enjoyment of you the neighbors and the many guests both local and tourists throughout the 9 days of the Fiesta.
The premise of this event was always to preserve the heritage of the festivities including the traditions of the church. The feeling for those of use raised here was of a celebration that unites and identifies our history as do the Patron Saint Festivities of all the parishes. This event became the second most important activity after those of the Parroquia de la Señora Guadalupe
In conclusion, we will respect our parish authority this year and during the current parish administration, all cultural events are suspended at least outside the church on our part.
However, all are invited to celebrate the ceremonies in the church and to enjoy the Mexican snacks outside the temple and the mechanical games that will be installed from April 30 to May 3.
We will preserve the experience that was acquired and built with great effort these past 10 years in order to apply it in the next administration.
