Some weddings are planned. Some weddings become a beautiful part of your life. ❤️

In October 2024, we first received a message from Pooja, followed by a phone call from UK where she lives. The moment we spoke to her, we fell in love with her voice, her warmth, and the beautiful way she expressed her vision — to celebrate her dream wedding in her homeland, Mauritius. 🇲🇺✨

We felt truly humbled by the trust she placed in us from the very beginning. What we loved most was her clarity, her vision, and the confidence she had in our team.

Little by little, the dream began taking shape.

We started building each function, booking and coordinating our logistic partners, aligning every team member to the same vision, choosing the perfect locations, working on the colour palettes, décor concepts, menus and, most importantly, incorporating those beautiful Mauritian flavours that made the celebrations truly special.

What you see in the pictures is the final product. ✨

But behind every beautiful picture are countless hours of planning, discussions, coordination, revisions, calls, site visits and little details that most people never get to see.

Different functions.
Different décor concepts.
Different venues.
Different menus.
Different guest lists.
Different requirements, expectations, dos and don’ts.

And somehow, everything has to come together seamlessly.

As wedding planners, we spend so much time with every couple throughout their journey that, when the wedding finally comes to an end, it feels as though a little piece of our heart and soul leaves with them. ❤️

What remains behind is only love, gratitude and beautiful memories.

Not everyone who calls themselves a wedding planner is actually planning weddings.

There, I said it.

And as an industry, perhaps we need to have a more honest conversation about this.

A wedding planner is not simply a decorator, florist, logistics supplier or someone who can create a beautiful Instagram-worthy setup.

Those professionals are important. They each have a role.

But wedding planning is the responsibility of bringing all those moving parts together.

• It is understanding the couple’s vision.
• Building and managing the budget.
• Coordinating multiple suppliers.
• Creating and controlling the Eventflow.
• Managing timelines.
• Anticipating problems before they happen.
• Making hundreds of decisions behind the scenes.
• Managing families, guests and vendors.
• And most importantly—protecting the couple from the chaos they shouldn’t have to see.

That is what couples are paying for.

Not just décor.

Not just logistics.

Peace of mind.

And this is where the industry needs more transparency.

Social media has made it incredibly easy to create the perception of expertise.

• Beautiful feeds.
• Perfectly edited photographs.
• Thousands of followers.
• Curated portfolios.

But a beautiful Instagram or page is not a qualification.

Because when the wedding day arrives, you cannot Google your way out of a crisis.

Experience matters.

Preparation matters.

Processes matter.

People matter.

And the ability to remain calm when everything around you is moving at 100 km/h?

➡️ Priceless.

As wedding planners, our job is not to convince couples to spend more.

It is to help them spend wisely—prioritising what matters, eliminating unnecessary costs, maximising value and ensuring every element has a purpose.

So no, couples shouldn’t choose their wedding planner because they are the cheapest.

And they shouldn’t choose one simply because their social media looks impressive.

Choose the team you trust when things don’t go according to plan.

Because on your wedding day, likes won’t manage your Eventflow.

Followers won’t solve your crisis.

A beautiful portfolio won’t calm your family.

Experience will.

And in an industry increasingly competing on price and perception, I believe the real competitive advantage is something much harder to build:

TRUST.

Don’t build a business people choose because you are cheap.

Build one they choose because they know you will deliver when it matters most.

As wedding planners, we've come to accept that no matter how many months are spent planning every detail, not everything will unfold exactly as envisioned. Sometimes it's the weather, sometimes unforeseen circumstances, and sometimes challenges that no one could have predicted.

What truly defines a wedding team is not the obstacles we face, but how we respond to them. Every challenge overcome, every last-minute adjustment, and every seamless transition between events makes us stronger and prepares us for whatever comes next.

The most rewarding part is watching the couple move through it all with complete trust in the team they've chosen—embracing every moment with excitement, laughter, and joy, often without ever realizing the countless moving parts working behind the scenes.

That is when success feels different.

Sam & Pooja's wedding was one of those unforgettable journeys.

As wedding planners, we spend months walking alongside our couples—planning, dreaming, solving challenges, celebrating milestones, and creating memories together. They slowly become a part of our everyday lives. And when the wedding comes to an end, it always leaves behind a quiet emptiness.
