Every once in a while you find out that your degrees of separation are fewer than you think…

When we went in for the ops meeting, our host said to us ‘the boys at Sauti Sol said you guys know what you’re doing. We told them that Aqueous bounced on to the scene as a plucky mobile cocktail bar offering around about the time Sauti Sol were releasing Mwanzo.

We can’t express what a joy it was to see the happy couple jamming to their favourite band under the African stars while we reminisced the National Museum 2010(?) event where we were working the bar and Sauti Sol were opening a valentines event.

You know It’s sort of not bonkers at all that we’re sending this message out this year, again...
Don’t Hire Aqueous for your Christmas party ... Stay in your bubble, order in and let’s ride this next wave safely ... we can all get together again in 2022. Let’s get there first ...

I’m taking orders now for Xmas eve / Xmas day delivery or whatever day suits you. I will have a fully masked and gloved up driver deliver your bird & gravy at the time of your choosing.

Nothing prepares you for the collapse of your industry.

You’re carrying a big enough weight as it is and to pivot with that on your shoulders…. no easy task my friend.

You’re not always completely prepared to receive blessings either.

After at least 3 lockdowns, numerous cancellations and facing the prospect of packing it in, receiving a call to cater in the desert for 5 days seemed a bit surreal.

Getting the job done is what AQUEOUS does so, we got prepared and we did it… we packed a couple of trucks and vans full of drinks, ice, camping gear and passionate people. We drove for two days to reach the venue, we set that baby up and we delivered in a way only AQUEOUS can but… we didn’t know how blessed we’d be to be surrounded by such wonderful, present and gracious people – we didn’t know that his wasn’t an event, it was a turning point for everybody in that desert.

It was an expression of Gratitude.
