As the memorial of the young souls of the Utumishi Acadamey happens today, there are very many unanswered questions:-
1. What has been done so far because we're still having school unrests?
2. Have we understood what the core of the problem?
3. Will justice ever be served for the lost souls?
4. How many reports are going to be written before recommendations are implemented?
5. Have we normalized tragedy?
6. How do we move from reaction to responsibility as students, parents, teachers, leaders and the community at large?
7. What kind of schools are we building?
8. What kind of a society have we become and what kind of a society are we building?
As their souls rest in peace, may we remember not only how they died, but also what their loss is calling the nation to become.
Lastly, let everyone play their role accordingly because this can only be done through collective responsibility.
