KYOTO CREATIVE GAME JAM: “Games for Good”

😎DATES:
Friday, November 8 – Monday, November 11 ( 4-day game jam )

⏱️TIME:
10:00-18:00 (daily)

⛩️LOCATION:
Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS),
6 Nishiin Kasame-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City
Kyoto Prefecture, 615-0058

Prizes and benefits:
🎖️> The winning teams (multiple teams) will receive development support funds worth a total of 4 million yen. All team members of the winning teams will be required to participate in a four-month remote mentoring program from November 2024 to March 2025. (This will be once a month for about an hour. Remote participation is also possible.)
✨> Participants are free to choose the theme of their game design, but must develop a game that focuses on solving a social issue.
🕹️> All games must be original games created during the game jam period; individuals or teams working on existing games will not be accepted.

Regarding themes and game concepts:
Game design ideas should be consistent with the broad themes of the following social issues :
👩‍💻> Fake News and Media Literacy�🌱> Environment and Sustainability�💪🏽> Citizen participation�🧗🏻‍♀️> Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality�🤹‍♀️> Entrepreneurship and economic empowerment�🇬🇧> English Language Learning and Study Abroad�🚑> Public Health and Security

Eligibility Requirements:
To apply for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
🇯🇵> Applicants must reside in Japan.�🕹️> Knowledge and experience in game design, game programming, animation, narrative design, scriptwriting, storytelling, music/audio production, or other relevant game development skills (though people with a growth mindset welcome).�🙇🏻‍♂️> Being interested in solving social issues.�👌> Be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese.

✨参加応募フォーム応募フォームの記入には15～20分程度かかります。
💥チームで応募する場合は、代表者の名前を記入してください。チームで応募する場合でも、各参加者が個別に応募する必要があります。
💕応募者は選考を通じ参加資格が与えられます。参加資格の選考結果は選考に合格した方・チームにのみ、本プログラム開始日の3週間前に通知されます。�🕹️（イベント開催までに通知がない場合は恐れ入りますが落選となりますので予めご了承ください。）

👌日程：2024年11月8日(金) – 2024年11月11日(月)の4日間�⏱️時間：10:00～18:00（予定）�⛩️場所: 京都外国語大学（〒615-0058 京都府京都市右京区西院笠目町6）

【賞・特典について】
🎖️入賞チーム（複数想定）に対し総額で400万円相当の開発支援金が贈られます。入賞チームの全チームメンバーは、2024年11月から2025年3月までの4ヶ月間のリモートメンタープログラムに参加する必要があります。
🧗🏻‍♀️（1ヶ月に一回、1時間程度のものとなります。リモート参加でも問題ありません）
参加者はゲームデザインのテーマを自由に選ぶことができますが、社会課題の解決をテーマにしたゲームを開発する必要があります。
🤹🏼すべてのゲームはゲームジャム期間中に作成されたオリジナルのゲームである必要があり、既存のゲームに取り組む個人やチームは受け入れられません。

【取り扱うテーマ・ゲームのコンセプトについて】
ゲームデザインのアイデアは、以下の社会課題の広範なテーマと一致している必要があります：

【応募資格】
🧸本プログラムに応募するには、応募者は以下の条件を満たす必要があります:
応募者は日本国内に在住している必要があります。�🙇🏻‍♂️ゲームデザイン、ゲームプログラミング、アニメーション、ナラティブデザイン、脚本制作、ストーリーテリング、音楽/音声制作、またはその他の関連するゲーム開発スキルに関する知識と経験があること。�🇯🇵社会課題の解決に関心があること。

“What is it about cafes that I like? For example, the one that we’re in right now, Sarutahiko [[in Harajuku Station]]: the atmosphere is really nice. It’s chill. They’re playing mellow music. It’s spread out—if you compare it to your typical Starbucks, for example. So I feel as though I have a little more breathing space here—with the big windows and the plants that are on the shelf. But also the food [[and drink]] items that they offer—the barrel-aged whisky coffee; that was pretty good.“ ☕️😎🔥

Originally from Nagasaki, Brenda studied business and accounting and recently relocated to Tokyo to pursue a career in modelling. An athlete from a young age, she has also explored dance, including jazz dance and classical ballet. And that’s not to mention her love of “Soroban”, or Japanese abacus, a device that she loved to use in childhood.🔥🔥🔥
