Zikomo () の日本デビュー決定！６月２４日に初来日

LA出身のアーティストZikomoは、Soulection、Juls、Black Milk、Metro Boomin'などと一緒に音楽をプロデュースしてきました。

Zikomoの音楽は R&B、ヒップホップ、ハウスのブレンド。世界中の会場で披露されてきました！（ソープソウル、アムステルダムのパラディソ、ロサンゼルスのザオブザーバトリーなど）

加えて、グラミー賞受賞歴のあるプロデューサー兼 DJ の Starro () も出演します。彼と ZikomoはSoulection ホワイトレーベルの同窓生だったそう。

LA-native Zikomo has been producing beats with the likes of Soulection, Juls, Black Milk and Metro Boomin’.

Playing his blend of R&B, Hip-Hop and House across the worlds legendary venues including Soap Seoul, Amsterdam’s Paradiso and L.A’s the Observatory.

Joining him in making your feet dance is Grammy Award winning producer and DJ, Starro (). A fellow Soulection white label alumni, he and Zikomo have crossed paths before.

Soundtracking the rest of the night in Nishiazabu, are the cream of Tokyo’s underground scene.

At the end of August, Lowkey was in London to experience Notting Hill Carnival. Here’s your lowdown of Europes biggest street party…

2022 marked the return of Notting Hill Carnival to the streets of Notting Hill, Portobello, and Ladbroke Grove.

This is an area inscribed in music history that has given rise to current artists such as AJ Tracey, Lava Larue, Cleo Sol, Lily Allen, Gorillaz and Digga D.

It has also birthed legendary counterculture acts such as The Clash, Pink Floyd, the Deviants and is the place where Jimi Hendrix died.

Between 1.5-2 million people show-out for the largest street event in Europe and second largest annual arts event globally after Rio carnival. The roads shut down and become property of the people allowing for families, and friends from all over to enjoy the vibe.

The carnival combines the efforts of 40,000 volunteers, 50,000 performers. Food stalls come with food from all over the world and people even selling goods from their front gardens.

Dotted around the area are 36 legendary sound systems providing the soundtrack for the weekend.

The first system was brought into the U.K from Jamaica by Duke Vin.
This year stages are now host to huge artists such as Koffee, Sean Paul, Tiwa Savage and meg the stallion.

It is a showcase of London’s vibrant diversity and appetite for culture.

But many don’t know that Notting Hill Carnival’s roots are borne out of a community expressing its culture against the pain of oppression.

Without the murder of Kelso Cochrane in the area that sparked the 1959 Notting Hill race riot began, there is a belief that the carnival wouldn’t exist.

The harassment of the Mangrove restaurant which became unofficial HQ for the carnival and has been dramatized in the recent ‘Small Axe’ anthology series directed by Steve McQueen.
