「舞妓さんと楽しむ京都の四季」 参加の海外の方嬉しいお便りをいただきました。
お母さん、私いま舞妓さんに会いに行ってきたよ！
訪れたのは、平安神宮や南禅寺のすぐ近くにある洗練された和の空間「岡崎庵（Okazaki-an）」。
細部まで“日本の美”を感じられる空間で、優雅な舞妓・芸妓さんの踊りを鑑賞しながら上質な和食を楽しめる特別な場所。
訪問の日が決まった瞬間からずっとワクワクして、カウントダウンするくらい楽しみにしていた体験。
季節ごとに変わる舞踊、同じ席で一緒にお話ししたり、お座敷遊びをしたり——
そのすべてが新鮮で、少し緊張しながらも心から楽しめました。
知ってた？京都では「芸者」ではなく「芸妓（げいこ）」と呼ばれていて、舞妓さんとして5年間修行を積んでから芸妓になるんです。
ある舞妓さんは、14歳のときに漫画で舞妓に憧れてこの道を選んだそう。
伝統を受け継ぎながら生きる姿に、心から感動しました

Mom, I’m going to see geisha! I’ve been excited the moment I got visit to “Okazaki-an” on my schedule. Counting days, and hours, and it was definitely worth waiting.
From enjoying seasonal dancing performance (yes, each season is different), playing board games, talking while eating and drinking on the same table..
it’s overwhelming and exciting, but truly enjoyable experience.
Did you know that geisha in Kyoto are called geiko?
Did you know to become geisha, you have to study for 5 years and you’re called Maiko until then?
Young girl decided to become geisha after reading a manga about them at 14 years old. Her hobbies, stories, traditions.
