Nowadays, many of my clients find me and reach out to me using AI. It’s becoming easier to find people and places that match your own ideas and values with the power of AI. So perhaps connecting couples with venues and vendors won’t be a role of a planner anymore.
A wedding is made by many different professionals, each with their own expertise, passion and pride in what they do.
I believe a planner’s role is to bring all these people together - to help everyone understand the couple, share the same direction, and create an environment where each person can do their ‘best work’. And this is not as simple as it looks. It’s not just about organising requests and making sure everything runs smoothly. You must understand cultural differences and expectations, sometimes without words, and understand the feelings behind them.
It’s about understanding the people - what they care about and what they want to create. And being sensitive enough to bring together the feelings and energy of the whole team, not just the couple.
I can’t create beautiful things with my own hands. But I’ve always wanted to be the person who creates the right environment for good things to happen. 🧚♀️
初心に帰るきっかけがあったので✍️
一昔前は、結婚式を考え始めたらゼクシィ、ブライダルカウンターや結婚式場に相談。そこから紹介してもらえる選択肢の中から、自分たちに合うものを探していく時代だった。今は、自分たちの希望や価値観を言葉にしてAIに伝えたら、もっとニッチなところにいる、自分たちに合う人や場所を見つけられる。これからは、会場やベンダーとお客様を繋ぐことはプランナーの役割ではなくなっていくかもしれない。スムーズな進行を組んだり、みんなが楽しめるコンテンツを考えることもひょっとしたらAIの方が優れているかもしれない。
いろんなプロフェッショナルが力を合わせてつくる結婚式。一人ひとりが、それぞれの仕事に対してのみんな違った専門知識や価値観、パッションと、プライドを持ってる。そんな人たちが同じ方向を向いて、それぞれの力を気持ちよく発揮できる環境をつくることこそが、プランナーのすごく大切な役割で、それは条件や希望を整理して伝えるだけでは足りなくて、つくる側の人たちが何を大切にして仕事をしているのかを理解して、新郎新婦だけでなくチーム全員の人の温度を、どれだけ繊細に感じ取って、理解して、つくっていけるか。
物をつくる人、何かを生み出す人が抱えているものは、きっと私が思っている以上に大きい。
私にはものづくりはできないけど、良いものがきちんと生まれる環境をしっかり整えられるプランナーであり続けたいと思う。
