Vehicles on wheels, or smartphones on wheels?
This was the powerful metaphor that set the tone for the 2025 edition of the International Aftermarket Meeting (IAM) at Autopromotec.
As highlighted during the conference, cars today are no longer just a mechanical machine: they’re connected, intelligent systems vulnerable to the same cyber threats we associate with our phones, laptops, and digital wallets. From over-the-air updates to EV charging and digital payments, the need for a robust cybersecurity framework is now crucial to the safety and trust of the entire aftermarket ecosystem.
🔐 But cybersecurity is just one side of the coin.
The IAM also posed an essential strategic question:
How can the independent aftermarket continue to thrive when access to vehicle data is increasingly restricted by digital barriers?
The road ahead is complex but conversations like this pave the way for a fair, safe, and competitive future in the independent aftermarket.
💬 Thank you to all the speakers and participants who contributed to this timely discussion:

But with the Autopromotec style 😎
The four incredible days of Autopromotec 2025 might be behind us, but that doesn’t mean the vibes are over! Whether you're at the beach, in the garage, or somewhere in between, our official Summer Playlist 2025 is here to power your holiday soundtrack.
We promise you:
🍍 Fresh beats, no traffic.
🔥 Hot tracks, no overheating.
♻️ Repair, reuse, remanufacture, recycle.
These are the four pillars driving a new, more sustainable approach to the automotive aftermarket — and they’re already delivering real results.
🔧 Using parts recovered from end-of-life vehicles not only cuts costs, but also significantly reduces environmental impact by avoiding unnecessary production and waste.
Just in 2023, over 766,000 vehicles were processed, giving 12.6 million parts a second life.
At Autopromotec 2025, we explored how circular economy principles are transforming the automotive aftermarket.
The conference "Circular Economy, Recycle & Remanufacturing: experiences from Europe and perspectives for Italy" featured:
Patrick Poincelet Mobilians
Marcello Colledani APRA Europe AISBL
Lorella Volpato ADA - Associazione Nazionale Demolitori Autoveicoli
Elisabetta Perrotta Assoambiente

📈 SMEs & Capital Markets: Financing the future of Made in Italy
At Autopromotec 2025, we hosted a high-level conference dedicated to one of the most strategic challenges for the automotive supply chain: access to capital for SMEs.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and financial experts to discuss how the tools of private equity, venture capital, and structured financing can support the growth of small and mid-sized companies, true pillars of Italian industrial excellence.
🚀 How can SMEs attract investors and finance innovation?
That was the central question of the day, explored in two engaging roundtables:
🔹 Macroeconomic and financial landscape
🔹 Private equity and corporate venture capital for industrial growth
🎙️ We thank the moderator Dario Donato Tgcom24 and all the companies that were present for their contribution:
Simest, Morgan Stanley, Crédit Agricole Italia, UniCredit, Tinexta Innovation Hub, DBAG, Mutares, Plug and Play Tech Center, Wise Equity and more.

At Autopromotec 2025, the institutional conference “The RFID Ecosystem in Tyres” shed light on how RFID technology is revolutionizing tyre lifecycle management.
🔍 Each tyre gets a unique serial number, passively read and connected to a cloud-based digital passport that records every key event across its lifespan.
💡 Why it matters?
Because traceability means smarter decisions — about safety, recycling, and circular economy.
Tyres can now be reused or disposed of responsibly, based on real data, not assumptions.
The results are:
✔️ Better road safety
✔️ Full traceability
✔️ Environmental protection
✔️ Reliable reuse and recycling
🧠 With moderation by Christophe Duc and opening remarks from Renzo Servadei, the session highlighted the role of RFID as a scalable, interoperable and intelligent solution for a more sustainable tyre supply chain.
👥 Thanks to our speakers from:
Michelin, GDSO, Innovando, Regom, FASEP, Ateq Italia, Corghi, Ecopneus -italia srl and
In the coming months, we’ll continue to explore the world of RFID technology: follow us to dive deeper into the conversation.

AUTOPROMOTEC: YESTERDAY AND TODAY
Branded from its earliest beginnings as an “international exhibition”, Autopromotec (back then called SARP – Exhibition of Tyre Retreading Equipment) was born in 1965 in Rome thanks to an AIRP (Italian Tyre Retreaders Association) initiative meant to give visibility to the technological developments experienced by the retreading sector in those years.
In 1967 the exhibition, now held in Bologna, launched the biennial formula still popular nowadays. A new phase begins in 1973, and SARP is partnered with SIAC (International Exhibition of Equipment, Car repair garages and Car body shops), and in 1991 the two exhibitions join together to form one, called Autopromotec.
The big turning point occurs in 2005, when Autopromotec includes new product sectors such as spare parts, components and car service to embrace the whole automotive aftermarket.
Today Autopromotec represents a selection of specialized trade shows where attendees can, thanks to the division of the show floor into sector-related halls, plan custom-made visits based on their professional interests.
The exclusive approach adopted by Autopromotec makes the show a showcase of cutting edge technologies, innovations, new products and market opportunities which are a benchmark for the sector. The exhibition has established an enviable reputation as a specialized, representative and professional event for highly qualified exhibitors (only manufacturers and authorized dealers) and, in its fifty-year history, it has kept pace with the technological and professional growth of the automotive sector, becoming a must-see for the supply and demand network. Autopromotec is the place where business opportunities turn into global networking strategies.
