Simsang Beat Contest 2012 is a part of Simsang Festival 2012 (Williamnagar Winter Festival 2012) to be held on the 12th, 13th & 14th of December, 2012. Simsang Festival is organised by the District Administration of East Garo Hills District, Meghalaya. This is an annual event since 2006, albeit under different names, viz. Williamnagar Winter Festival in 2006 & 2007, Dania & Nagra in 2008 & 2009 re
spectively, and Pingera in 2010 & 2011. This year the festival has been re-named as Simsang Festival. Higher Secondary School Playground, Williamnagar. Simsang Beat Contest will be open to all bands. There will be a prize money of Rupees 1 (One) Lakhs for the winning band. The will be no entry fees. Interested bands should send in demos of 2 (two) numbers. The numbers should be in English and not in vernacular language, they could be either covers or originals. The demos could be submitted in person or e-mailed to [email protected]. The last date for sending in demos is 27th November, 2012. Selected bands will be invited for the Live Auditions, which will be held on the 11th & 12th of December, 2012. The Finals will be held on 14th December, 2012. Dormitory accomodations will be provided for those bands coming from outside Garo Hills.
