Hailing from Rajasthan, he moved to Mumbai in 1985 to flourish his dreams of building a business which grows hand in hand with its patrons. Varyani still harboured ambitions of building a community driven business which provides growth and exposure to people. With this vision, he launched his first project 'Sindhi Shopping Utsav' under his company Expo International, at Mumbai's plush Hotel Taj La
nd's End. The venture was an unprecedented success, and fueled him to organize back to back successful shows and awards nights. Expo International took risks in the year of its inception, and saw overwhelming support from the society. Aviation minister Shri Praful Patel, Mumbai Sheriff - Shri Vijaypath Singhania, Advocate Shri Ram Jethmalani, Chairman of Gitanjali Group – Mr. Rajendra Hinduja – Director, Gokuldas Exports, Mr. Trivedi – Director, Reliance Industries, Bollywood personalities like Preeti Jhangiani, Jackie Shroff & Dia Mirza are some of the many stalwarts that have encouraged and been a part of Expo International's journey. In an endeavor to continue the legacy started by late Mr. Ashok Varyani, the company is now diligently run by his three able daughters, Lakshmi, Manisha & Poonam Varyani who are executing Vibrant shows with amazing brands and footfalls throughout the city.
