"We don't talk a lot, but he said something to me that really stuck out with me and it's very sincere.

"It's that WWE and pro-wrestling in general going to such a big platform like ESPN, it's really everything that our dads ever worked for.

“I think for sure, what you’ll see with Wrestlepalooza is there’s somebody for everybody. In terms of the roster we have, WWE’s roster—Joe Tess was just talking about it the other day—has never been this stacked.

So the fact that you have John Cena on a retirement tour, you have myself, you know, pat on the back with the WWE Championship, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, AJ Lee returning—if you tune in and you’ve never stepped in before, I think you’re gonna have a great time. You’re gonna find someone you fall in love with and stick with us.”

"If you're a true professional, you don't have to even remotely like the guy you work with. But the business is built on trust. So if someone's gonna try to double-cross me, now that's a whole different problem.

"But I work with professionals who aren't gonna do that, because I think they do realize, if we do that, there's gonna be some sort of a problem.

"But yeah, I'm not going out to dinner with these guys. Some of them don't like me. Some of them, I don't care for. And that's the magic, that's the line we get to weave in and out."

"I think I'm that five-tool player. You can put me on commentary. I could ref. That probably wouldn't work, I'd probably take some attention away from whoever's in the ring. But there's so many behind-the-scenes roles.

"We call them producers now but in my day we called them agents. There's people who put shows together. There's writers obviously, creative people. I love all aspects of the business. There's like 1000 hats I could wear once I'm crippled and I can't go anymore."

“It’s been dreamlike. I remember very vividly traveling in cars with Celeste—Kaitlyn—a wrestler back in the day, and I would just always say, my goal is to just… if there would be one more me. If there’s just like one more person who gets these cool opportunities, if I can sort of shatter that glass ceiling and kick down these doors. If just one person gets an opportunity, that would be amazing. To just be more than eye candy, to be more than what the past was, and being limited on our looks.

And to see it evolve, and everyone is so special and different and unique and talented, and what they look like is, like, the 10th most interesting thing about them. It’s a dream come true, and I think that’s what evolution is supposed to be. Every generation is supposed to get stronger and blow the previous generation out of the water.”

“I’m having the time of my life. I’m like the uber, nerdiest wife guy. I always like to say I try to spend as much time with my wife as I can, and I spend a lot of time with her. And it never feels like it’s enough. So having her be back in this environment with me at work is like a dream come true.”
