The 13th AITWPF National Championship 2026 was successfully held from 7th to 12th January 2026 at the Pedem Indoor Stadium (Badminton Hall), Goa.
Team Assam proudly participated with a contingent of 9 players, accompanied by Mr. Nirmal Das (Secretary-cum-International Referee) and Mr. Joydeep Nath.

This championship marked the first-ever participation of Team Assam in a United World Wrestling (UWW)โ€“recognized Amateur MMA event.

The Belt Wrestling & Pankration Association of Assam is pleased to inform that the 13th AITWPF National Championships 2026, officially recognised by United World Wrestling (UWW), will be held from 8th to 11th January 2026 at Badminton Hall, Peddem, Mapusa, Goa.

This prestigious event is organised by the All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) โ€” the national body affiliated with UWW for Traditional Wrestling, Belt Wrestling, Pankration, and UWW Amateur MMA.

We are proud to highlight that UWW Amateur MMA has been officially included under the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) sports discipline framework โ€” a significant achievement for combat sports worldwide.

The Belt Wrestling & Pankration Association of Assam is the only officially recognised governing body for UWW Amateur MMA, Belt Wrestling, and Pankration in the state of Assam. Our athletes, coaches, and officials will represent Assam at this prestigious UWW-recognised national championship.
