I was filming Vradhi and I noticed something.

She just couldn’t look at her parents.

And I don’t know why, but that really stayed with me.

Maybe because I knew exactly what she was feeling. I’m very close to my dad, and I genuinely feel like if I was in her place, I wouldn’t be able to look at him either.

Being a daughter is weird. We grow up hearing that one day we’ll leave our parents and start a new life somewhere else. We all know it’s coming, but I don’t think you can ever actually be ready for it.

Because how do you look at the people who have been your whole world and say, “okay, I’m leaving now”?

I think that’s what I saw in Vradhi that day.

And maybe that’s why being a daughter isn’t as easy as it looks.

But then you wipe your tears, smile at your parents, and go build the life they always wanted for you. 🤍
