Farz is a 1967 Hindi spy thriller directed by Ravikant Nagaich, which marked a turning point in Jeetendra’s career. Loosely inspired by James Bond-style espionage films, Farz blended suspense, action, romance, and music in a commercially successful formula. Jeetendra played the role of Secret Agent 116, Gopal, tasked with investigating the mysterious death of another agent and uncovering an international criminal conspiracy.

Jeetendra’s energetic performance, especially in the action scenes and dance sequences, earned him the nickname “Jumping Jack of Bollywood.” His chemistry with Babita, who played the female lead, added a romantic charm to the otherwise intense narrative. The film’s direction, combined with stylish sets and dramatic cinematography, gave audiences a fresh cinematic experience during the late 1960s.
