Great excitement in the Steak Out kitchen today when we heard we were finalists in not 1, not 2....but 5 categories at this year's . Having only started our journey 18 months ago, this is testament to the huge amount of work and attention that goes on in every part of the business. focuses on personalized, nutritious meals, excellent customer service and sustainable practices.

Protecting our planet starts with small steps! We're showing the next generation in Ireland how it's done by using reusable containers for their school hot meals. 🍎 Let's empower them to make sustainable choices. A simple way? Start with reusable cutlery from home! ♻️ This program has so many benefits for the children of Ireland, let's not ruin it by adding thousands of single use containers into the waste stream each day.

Great news for the schools involved. Please contact us if you are interested in partnering with a local school lunch provider. We are one of the only providers nationwide to offer personalized meals (you can pick different sides with your main option). We minimize/eliminate single use containers by utilizing reusable containers 💚.
We make all of our sauces from scratch using fresh vegetables and herbs. Where possible we source local produce, supporting local jobs and cutting our carbon footprint. We deliver your meals hot and ready to eat. No onsite heating required.

21 additional primary schools in County Mayo have now been included in the Hot School Meals Programme.

However, there are significant concerns regarding the nutritional quality of the meals provided. I intend to address this with the Minister to ensure that the meals served truly meet the nutritional needs of our children.

Friday = burgers on the menu 😍
Our most popular menu item is made using locally sourced Irish beef minced with a pinch of salt & pepper. No unnecessary additives or preservatives.
Made by one of our local butchers, Jennings Family Butcher in Dunmore and enjoyed by hundreds of children each week.

Our mashed potato is made in house each morning with freshly peeled Irish potatoes with only milk and pepper added.

Children can also pick an apple, orange, raisins, carrot or cucumber sticks or a side salad with this meal 🥒🍎🍊🥕

Made with only organic, wholesome ingredients with no added sugar or preservatives. Will be testing out a few recipes over the coming weeks to ensure our school lunches contain the best ingredients

We are back in action 🙌 Meals will be delivered tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who came together to help us get back up and running. A very kind gesture from C & N Construction ltd, the loan of an industrial generator allowed us to restock ahead of service and gave us the confidence that no further stock would be lost. They have never met us but reached out to help when they heard of our closure for which we are very grateful ❤️ Please remember and support your local businesses as we all move forward as so many have been huge supports to their local communities since storm Eowyn.

Unfortunately, our power restoration was short-lived on Friday and we lost power again a short while later. Our restoration date has been pushed out again and unfortunately we will not be able to operate until our electricity is back due to the burn out of one of our generators.
We are very sorry but can parents/guardians please send a packed lunch to school tomorrow and Wednesday. We hope to be back fully operational on Thursday. Should there be any further delays we will let you know as soon as we become aware. Please keep an eye on the Steak Out Catering app for updates.
