We’re delighted to have rescheduled our January planned concert and session. On Friday 7th March at 8pm in Cornagilta School Heritage Centre, our concert will feature Diarmuid Ó Meachair on accordion and melodeon, accompanied by Brian McGrath on keyboard and Michael McCague on guitar and bouzouki.

Diarmuid Ó Meachair is no stranger to the stage and performs regularly with Frankie Gavin & De Dannan as well as maintaining a rigorous solo touring schedule. From the Cúil Aodha Gaeltacht in Cork, Diarmuid is also an accomplished sean-nós singer and teacher and has gained recognition as one of the most exciting traditional musicians of his generation, winning the prestigious TG4 Young Musician of the Year award in 2022 and has recorded 3 solo albums to date.

Brian McGrath is a highly respected musician, known for his exceptional skills on the banjo and piano. Hailing from Brookeborough, Co. Fermanagh, His musical journey began at a young age, and he quickly made a name for himself in the traditional Irish music scene. He has played with renowned bands such as Dervish, Four Men and a Dog, De Danann and At The Racket, and has accompanied celebrated musicians like Noel Hill and Frankie Gavin.

Michael McCague is a guitarist and bouzouki player from County Monaghan. He has played with various outstanding traditional musicians and bands, including At First Light, At The Racket, and Teada. Michael is known for his contributions to traditional Irish music, both as a performer and an educator. Michael’s self-penned album, “The Waylaid Man,” showcases his compositions and has been well-received in the traditional music community.

McCague’s Bar will host a session on Friday night starting at 9.30pm with Dan Gurney, George McAdam, and Dónal McCague. For concert tickets, contact us on 087-2547724.

Looking forward to seeing you all there for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of Irish traditional music!
