Want to get married on a Croatian island but can't decide which one? Here's the honest breakdown. ↓
Hvar is the most well-known — about an hour by catamaran from Split. The town itself is busy, beautiful and full of energy. Great hotels, restaurants, bars, things to do. If you like having everything on your doorstep and don't mind the summer crowds, it works perfectly. But Hvar isn't just its main town. Drive a few miles out and you're in a completely different world — quiet villas, olive groves, total peace. The party is still there if you want it. It just doesn't have to be your wedding.
Brač is Hvar's more relaxed sister. Just as beautiful, less than an hour from Split, and with a pace that feels genuinely unhurried. Stunning olive groves, rustic charm, and still all the comforts — good hotels, restaurants, boat trips, wine and olive oil tastings. If you want beautiful without the buzz, this is it.
Vis is a personal favourite — and we're yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it. It takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours to get there depending on the boat, and yes, it's remote. But that's the whole point. When you're on Vis, the rest of the world genuinely disappears. No big hotels, no endless shops — just a magical, slow-moving island where your guests will run into each other every day without even trying. Couples who choose Vis know exactly what they want. And they never regret it.
