A.O.G ORGANIZATION AND ONE GUYANA GUYANA FESTIVAL PRESS STATEMENT.

The Association of Overseas Guyanese (A.O.G ORGANIZATION) wishes to publicly address recent discussions, misinformation, and ongoing confusion surrounding our organization and the One Guyana Festival initiative.

First and foremost, A.O.G ORGANIZATION and the One Guyana Festival are two separate and independent entities. While both organizations share a commitment to community engagement, cultural promotion, and supporting the Guyanese diaspora in Canada, they operate independently with their own structure, purpose, and administration.

Both entities were officially registered in the Province of Ontario, Canada, more than three years ago and continue to function lawfully under Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal laws. We take pride in operating transparently and responsibly while following all required rules, regulations, protocols, and legal standards expected within Canada.

There have been comments and concerns regarding recognition by the Government of Guyana. Let us be very clear: the Government of Guyana has the right to recognize whichever groups or organizations it chooses. However, the absence of recognition from the Guyanese government does not invalidate or diminish the legitimacy of organizations that are legally established and recognized in Canada.

A.O.G ORGANIZATION and the One Guyana Festival remain recognized and compliant within the Canadian system. That recognition matters greatly because Canada is where these entities were established, where they operate, and where they continue to serve thousands of members within the Guyanese diaspora community.

We are Canadians of Guyanese heritage who continue to contribute positively to Canadian society while maintaining strong cultural, social, and emotional ties to Guyana. Our commitment is to the people, the culture, and the community — not political favoritism or selective approval.

For years, A.O.G ORGANIZATION has worked tirelessly to advocate for overseas Guyanese, particularly those residing in Canada. We have consistently spoken on issues affecting the diaspora community, including concerns surrounding investment confidence, transparency, fairness, cultural inclusion, and the treatment of overseas Guyanese who wish to reconnect with their homeland.

The One Guyana Festival was created with the intention of celebrating unity, diversity, and the rich cultural identity of Guyanese people living abroad. The festival is meant to bring people together through culture, entertainment, heritage, and community spirit. It is not a political organization and should not be viewed through a political lens.

Unfortunately, there are attempts by some individuals to undermine independent organizations that operate outside of political influence or control. A.O.G ORGANIZATION believes strongly in independence, accountability, and freedom of expression. We will not be intimidated or discouraged because our voices represent ordinary Guyanese people who deserve to be heard.

We also reject the notion that only unregistered or politically connected groups deserve acknowledgment or legitimacy. In Canada, organizations are expected to follow proper legal procedures, maintain accountability, and operate transparently. That is exactly what both A.O.G ORGANIZATION and the One Guyana Festival have done from the very beginning.

Our organizations will continue to move forward with professionalism, dignity, and respect. We will continue to organize events, support charitable initiatives, promote Guyanese culture, and advocate for the interests of the Guyanese diaspora in Canada and beyond.

We remain proud of our accomplishments and deeply grateful to the many members of the Guyanese community who continue to support our efforts. No amount of criticism, political bias, or negativity will stop our mission to build stronger connections within the diaspora and preserve the pride and identity of Guyanese people overseas.

A.O.G ORGANIZATION stands firm in its commitment to unity, transparency, cultural celebration, and independent representation for overseas Guyanese.

We thank the community for its continued support and encourage everyone to remain focused on building stronger communities together rather than division and misinformation.

A.O.G ORGANIZATION & ONE GUYANA FESTIVAL

60TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF GUYANA AND THE GUYANESE DIASPORA WORLDWIDE

May 26, 2026

A.O.G ORGANIZATION and ONE GUYANA FESTIVAL proudly extend sincere congratulations and best wishes to all Guyanese citizens in Guyana, across Canada, and throughout the worldwide Guyanese diaspora as we commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Independence of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

On May 26, 1966, Guyana proudly emerged as an independent nation filled with hope, ambition, and dreams of building a united, prosperous, and fair society for all its people. Today, sixty years later, we pause to reflect on our nation’s journey, acknowledge the sacrifices of those who came before us, celebrate the resilience of the Guyanese people, and examine the realities facing our country and citizens both at home and abroad.
This Independence Anniversary is not only a celebration of our nationhood, but also a time for honest reflection, national unity, and renewed commitment to the future of Guyana and its people.

Over the past sixty years, Guyana has been governed under different political administrations. The People’s National Congress (PNC) governed Guyana for 28 years, the APNU+AFC coalition governed for 5 years, and the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) has governed for 28 years. Throughout these decades, successive governments have made promises of national development, unity, equality, and prosperity for all Guyanese people.

Despite the progress achieved in various sectors and Guyana’s rise as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, many Guyanese citizens continue to face hardships, inequality, economic struggles, lack of opportunities, rising cost of living, and social division. Sixty years after Independence, too many Guyanese still feel excluded from the benefits of the nation’s wealth and development.

As a nation blessed with enormous natural resources, including oil and gas, gold, bauxite, timber, agriculture, and fertile lands, Guyana has the potential to become one of the most prosperous and respected nations in the Caribbean and South America. However, the question many ordinary Guyanese continue to ask is simple: when will every citizen truly benefit equally from the wealth of the nation?

A.O.G ORGANIZATION and ONE GUYANA FESTIVAL firmly believe that Guyana belongs to all Guyanese people — regardless of race, political affiliation, religion, social class, or geographical location. The resources and opportunities of this country must not belong only to a selected few, political associates, friends, favorites, or powerful families. Every Guyanese citizen deserves fairness, equal opportunity, dignity, and inclusion in the nation’s development.

As we mark this historic milestone, we must also recognize that our greatest challenge as a people continues to be division. Political division, racial division, economic inequality, and social mistrust continue to weaken national unity and prevent Guyana from reaching its full potential. For decades, Guyanese people have heard speeches and promises from political leaders, yet many citizens are still waiting to see meaningful action that improves their daily lives.

The people of Guyana deserve more than words. They deserve results. They deserve transparency, accountability, justice, economic opportunities, safer communities, affordable living conditions, better healthcare, stronger education systems, and a future where young people can succeed without feeling forced to migrate overseas for opportunities.

A.O.G ORGANIZATION and ONE GUYANA FESTIVAL call upon all political leaders, civil society organizations, religious leaders, members of the diaspora, youth, and ordinary citizens to work together in the spirit of “One People, One Nation, One Destiny.” National unity cannot simply remain a slogan. It must become a reality reflected in government policies, economic opportunities, social programs, and the treatment of all citizens equally and fairly.

We also call on Guyanese citizens everywhere to remain engaged, informed, and active in the democratic process. Leaders are elected to serve the people, and therefore they must remain accountable to the people. Citizens have the right to demand honesty, fairness, responsible governance, and equal distribution of the country’s wealth and resources.

The Guyanese diaspora has also played a critical role in the growth and survival of Guyana over the decades. Through investments, remittances, advocacy, charitable contributions, cultural preservation, and continued support for families back home, the diaspora has remained deeply connected to the development of Guyana. Their voices, contributions, and concerns must continue to be respected and recognized as an important part of the nation’s future.

As Guyana celebrates 60 years of Independence, let this moment become a turning point toward building a stronger, fairer, and more united nation for future generations. Let us move beyond division, political hostility, and inequality. Let us build a Guyana where every citizen, regardless of background or status, can enjoy the benefits of the country’s success and prosperity.

A.O.G ORGANIZATION and ONE GUYANA FESTIVAL remain committed to advocating for unity, inclusion, fairness, equality, accountability, and opportunities for all Guyanese people.

May God continue to bless the Cooperative
Republic of Guyana, guide its leaders with wisdom, and protect all Guyanese people both at home and abroad.

Happy 60th Independence Anniversary, Guyana.

🌸💖 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE AMAZING MOTHERS AROUND THE WORLD 💖🌸

Today, we celebrate the most precious gift God has given to humanity — a mother’s love. A mother’s love is pure, selfless, unconditional, and everlasting. Mothers are the heartbeat of every family, the strength behind every child, and the silent heroes who give so much of themselves without ever asking for anything in return.

To every mother, grandmother, single mother, adoptive mother, stepmother, and every woman who has loved, nurtured, guided, and cared for others like a mother — today is for YOU. 🌹

Thank you for the sleepless nights, the endless sacrifices, the comforting hugs, the prayers whispered in silence, and the unconditional love that carries families through every storm. Your kindness, patience, strength, and devotion make the world a better and more loving place.

Today, we also honor and remember the mothers who are no longer with us. Though they may have left this earth, their love never leaves our hearts. Their memories continue to guide us, comfort us, and live within us every single day. A mother’s love is eternal. ❤️🙏

To all mothers everywhere: You are appreciated. You are valued. You are deeply loved. You are truly the backbone of our families and communities.
May today bring every mother joy, peace, appreciation, and the love you so richly deserve. May you feel celebrated not just today, but every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers around the world. 🌸💐❤️

A.O.G ORGANIZATION PRESS STATEMENT

🚨🇬🇾 GUYANESE DIASPORA IN CANADA ARE ASKING THE REAL QUESTIONS 🇨🇦🚨

President Irfaan Ali continues calling on overseas Guyanese to “return home” and invest in Guyana. The message sounds patriotic and inspiring on the surface. Every Guyanese abroad would love to see Guyana rise, prosper, and become a nation where all its people can thrive.

But many Guyanese in Canada and across the diaspora are now asking one serious question:
COME HOME TO WHAT EXACTLY?

Come home to what protections? Come home to what systems? Come home to what guarantees? Come home to what long-term vision for the diaspora?

The Guyanese diaspora in Canada is not blind to what is happening back home. Through social media, online news, independent journalists, family conversations, and daily communication with relatives on the ground, overseas Guyanese have a very clear picture of both the opportunities and the harsh realities facing ordinary citizens in Guyana today.

Yes, Guyana is experiencing rapid development because of oil wealth. Yes, there are new buildings, roads, hotels, and investments. But behind the glossy headlines and staged press conferences, many Guyanese still struggle daily with: • Rising cost of living

• Expensive housing and rent
• Limited healthcare access
• Unequal opportunities
• Crime and security concerns
• Political favoritism
• Poor wages for ordinary workers
• Slow bureaucracy and land issues
• Lack of protections for returning investors
These are real concerns. And the diaspora sees it all.

Do I believe the Guyanese diaspora can contribute meaningfully to Guyana? ABSOLUTELY YES.
The diaspora is one of Guyana’s greatest assets. Overseas Guyanese have spent decades building lives, businesses, careers, and educational success in countries like Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and beyond. Many have gained international experience in healthcare, engineering, business, education, construction, technology, finance, and public service.
The diaspora has the skills. The diaspora has the knowledge. The diaspora has the resources. The diaspora has the love for Guyana.
Many overseas Guyanese genuinely WANT to return home one day. They want to: 🇬🇾 Build businesses

🇬🇾 Buy homes and land
🇬🇾 Retire peacefully
🇬🇾 Create jobs
🇬🇾 Invest in communities
🇬🇾 Support tourism
🇬🇾 Bring international expertise
🇬🇾 Help develop the country

But patriotism alone cannot replace proper systems and protections.
This very administration, led by President Irfaan Ali, continues encouraging overseas Guyanese to invest and relocate, yet has failed to clearly explain what concrete systems are in place to protect diaspora citizens who return home after spending years or decades abroad.

Where is the national diaspora investment protection policy? Where are the tax incentives? Where are the relocation support programs? Where are the housing assistance initiatives? Where are the protections against corruption, discrimination, or political victimization? Where is the streamlined process for land ownership and business registration? Where are the long-term healthcare protections for returning retirees?
Where are the special banking and financing programs for diaspora investors?

The government talks about attracting overseas Guyanese, but attraction without protection becomes a dead end for many people.
It is easy for politicians to stand at podiums and tell people abroad to “come home.” But the reality on the ground is much harder when returning Guyanese face: ❌ Endless bureaucracy

❌ High construction costs
❌ Land ownership disputes
❌ Delays in government services
❌ Limited legal protections
❌ Difficulty accessing financing
❌ Safety and security concerns
❌ Political division and favoritism

Many overseas Guyanese fear investing their life savings into a system where ordinary citizens still struggle to get basic things done fairly and efficiently.

And let us speak honestly.
This government proudly boasts about luxury hotels, tourism expansion, and large-scale development projects. But the average Guyanese — including diaspora families visiting or relocating — must ask:

HOW MANY ORDINARY GUYANESE CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD THESE HOTELS?

How many working-class Guyanese families can afford long hotel stays while trying to settle back into the country? How many returning diaspora citizens can comfortably navigate the rising cost of living? How many retirees feel confident relying on the healthcare system after returning home?
Development should not only look good in photographs and government advertisements. Development must improve the lives of ordinary people.

Too many government supporters and political allies in Canada remain silent on the real struggles facing diaspora Guyanese. Instead of demanding stronger protections, fairer systems, and real policies for overseas Guyanese, many choose politics over people.

The diaspora deserves better than slogans. The diaspora deserves better than speeches. The diaspora deserves better than symbolic invitations.

If the Government of Guyana truly wants overseas Guyanese to return home and invest, then there must be serious national discussions and action surrounding:

🏠 Affordable and secure housing programs for returning diaspora families
🏥 Modern and reliable healthcare systems
🎓 Stronger education opportunities for children returning from abroad

📄 Faster and fairer land ownership and business registration processes

🔒 Transparent and fair gun licensing and personal security protections
💰 Tax incentives and investment guarantees for diaspora investors
🏦 Easier banking access and financing options
✈️ Relocation assistance programs for overseas Guyanese
⚖️ Equal treatment regardless of political affiliation or connections

👥 A dedicated diaspora affairs system focused on real support — not politics
The Guyanese diaspora is not against Guyana. The diaspora LOVES Guyana. The diaspora NEVER abandoned Guyana.

Many left because opportunities were limited, economies were weak, and political instability pushed generations to seek better lives abroad. Yet despite the distance, overseas Guyanese continued sending billions in remittances, supporting families, investing in communities, and promoting Guyana internationally for decades.
Now that Guyana is becoming one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, overseas Guyanese should not simply be treated as temporary investors or tourists. They should be respected as equal stakeholders in the nation’s future.

Returning home should feel like an opportunity — not a risk.
Guyana’s future must include ALL Guyanese: 🇬🇾 Those living at home

🇬🇾 Those living abroad
🇬🇾 Those planning to return
🇬🇾 And the next generation of diaspora children who still proudly call Guyana home

The diaspora is ready to contribute. But before asking people to come home, the government must first build the systems that make people feel protected, welcomed, respected, and secure. 🇬🇾🇨🇦

A.O.G LABOUR DAY PRESS STATEMENT
🇬🇾 LABOUR DAY 2026 – GUYANA 🇬🇾

Today, on Labour Day, we honor the hardworking men and women of Guyana—the backbone of our nation. Their dedication, sacrifice, and resilience continue to build and sustain our country every single day.

But recognition alone is not enough.
In 2026, many workers are still raising serious concerns about their everyday reality. Despite

Guyana’s growing wealth—especially in the oil sector—too many citizens continue to face economic hardship, low wages, and a rising cost of living.

There is a growing call across the nation for: 🔹 Fair treatment and genuine respect for all workers
🔹 Better wages and improved working conditions
🔹 Stronger enforcement of labour rights and union agreements

🔹 Equal distribution of national wealth so no one is left behind

Ongoing labour disputes, including those involving teachers and public sector workers, highlight a deeper issue—many feel their voices are not being heard.

While government leaders speak of progress and development, a significant number of workers believe that the benefits of that progress are not reaching them. This disconnect cannot be ignored.

Labour Day must be more than a celebration—it must be a moment of reflection and action.
A stronger Guyana means: ✔️ Workers who are valued, protected, and fairly paid

✔️ Families who can live with dignity—not just survive

✔️ A future where economic growth uplifts everyone, not just a few
Let today be a reminder:

The true wealth of Guyana is its people.
✊🏽 Happy Labour Day. Stand up. Speak out. Demand better. 🇬🇾
