You might know Ana as Hacienda Belén’s host, and the person who is behind the magic of this place. But Carmen Lucía, Ana’s aunt, has memories here that go back to childhood.

She remembers her grandmother Lala’s roses, the dirt roads before the houses came, the smell the river left behind after heavy rain, and two birthday celebrations spent exactly where you see big weddings and gatherings now.

She says the house has been in the family for about 150 years. The gardens have changed, the roads have changed, and the house itself has grown. But she says it has always been very well cared for.

When she talks about Hacienda Belén, she is describing a place that raised her.

We are lucky to carry something this old. We are even luckier that the people who remember it most are still here to tell us what it was like. Every stay here is built on top of something real, and we are grateful to be able to share it with all of you.

This is Hacienda Belén.

An 18th-century private estate in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala.

It holds nine rooms, a pool, open gardens, and a courtyard that has been holding people together for over a century.

The Torres family has called this place home since 1928. Now it is available for your whole group.

This is Ana, and this is the house she loves most.

A wedding at Belén does not need much to feel timeless. The house already knows what to do.

The stone walls, the arches, the moments the courtyard holds without letting go.

These are a few of the moments it held lately.

Last week, our family said goodbye to Hernán Torres, Ana’s grandfather, at the age of 100. 🤍

Belén was part of his life from the very beginning. He grew up with the finca as part of his everyday world, while his father, Augusto Torres, managed Belencito during its years as a working coffee estate.

We feel so lucky that we were able to celebrate his 100th birthday with him earlier this year and hear some of the stories he carried with him.

He will be deeply missed, and he will always be part of Belén.

Some evenings arrange themselves by bringing everyone together, without anyone planning it that way.

A bonfire, the terrace, and the volcanoes in the distance.

This is what a group stay at Hacienda Belén feels like when the night takes over.

Nine rooms in one private estate. Gathering the right people in the right place.

One of the best parts of staying at Hacienda Belén is the street it sits on.

5ta Avenida Sur is quiet, beautiful, and full of places worth sitting down in. Ana has her favorites, and these five are the ones she finds herself recommending most. They are simply good and run by people who put care into everything they make.

From a Korean kitchen opened by a couple who never left Antigua, to a pizza made by someone who trained in New York and won a national award for it, to a café literally inside a plant nursery.

Supporting the businesses around us feels like the natural thing to do.

If you are staying with us and want a personal recommendation, Ana is always the first person to ask.

When they first booked Hacienda Belén, they asked if they could have a small ceremony during their stay.

And small really did mean small.

Just the two of them, their families, and a few close friends. No DJ, no elaborate lighting, no big production. The house was the decoration, a speaker was enough, and everyone they loved was already there.

They stayed for four days, ate together, danced, jumped into the pool, and got to keep the celebration going in a way that only happens when everyone is staying under the same roof.

Sometimes, love really is all you need.
