POSTING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME FOR AN IMPORTANT REASON:
If any of my Santorini colleagues and friends feel like doing something kind for a fellow Santorini citizen, someone who would absolutely be a friend if you ever met her, please take a moment to read this.
Megan is one of the most genuinely calm, kind and caring people I’ve ever met.
She has undergone an advanced, highly personalised treatment called TIL therapy in the US. In simple terms, doctors removed part of her tumour, extracted her own immune cells that were already trying to fight the cancer, multiplied them in a lab, and then infused them back into her body after chemotherapy so they could attack the cancer more effectively.
It’s an intense treatment that involves surgery, chemo, long hospital stays and specialist care all far from her family home.
Her loved ones are now raising funds to help transport her safely back home, where she can be surrounded by the people who love her most.
If you’re able to donate anything at all, even a small amount, it would make a huge difference:

I met Megan in Santorini just after Covid when I was planning weddings, travel had just started to open up after months of bleak times. She’s originally from the US and was living there after meeting her fiancé, Vagelis.
She messaged me after seeing my wedding planning content and said something like:
“Hey, I’m from the US living in Santorini and don’t have many friends here yet. If you’re on the island and fancy meeting for a coffee or glass of wine, I’d really love that.”
So we did. We had what was basically a ‘blind friend date’ at Venetsanos Winery, the winery where I got married and have worked since.
I admired her for putting herself out there. She was warm, thoughtful and genuine. And honestly, how lucky was I that she chose me for that glass of wine.
We stayed in touch, supported each other, and shared many more special moments over the years.
Fast forward to today, and Megan is bravely fighting cancer in the US but will no doubt kick it's butt and be back to our happy island soon.

If you can’t donate, sharing this would help just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read this ❤️
