When I lived in California, I had a chance to go on Ecstatic Dance Bus Tour; which meant going to different cities along West Coast of the United States and dancing with local dance communities for a week or so. Imagine—summer days, traveling and dancing around, for a week!🥹
I didn’t go; for some reason I thought I didn’t have money for it (which I did), and said to myself “it’s not the best time, I have some problems to fix first, next time!”
Unfortunately, the best (and next) time never came.
It takes a lot of energy to organize such tour, and the organizers didn’t make another one (which they warned us about beforehand).
Why I am writing this: local Ecstatic Dance that I have an honour to produce monthly in Tbilisi, has the same flavor as this Bus Tour, although it is not as massive and various in terms of location and number of dancers.
I tend to overpromote this local event of mine and tell everyone that I know about it, for couple reasons: (1) there’s always someone telling me that they didn’t see the event posted anywhere, that’s why they couldn’t make it last time; and (2) like me, I don’t want people to miss out on such transformative, fun, 2-hour event that takes literary 10hours each time to prepare for and run it smoothly.
I don’t plan on stopping (maybe a hiatus), but my point is—it must be enjoyed while it’s hot, like pasta.😋
Side-story: when I was about 10, my grandpa used to beg me to eat the tomatoes he grew in his garden; I wouldn’t open my mouth. After 20 years, I like tomatoes. Maybe it takes 20 years for some to finally taste the medicine that Ecstatic Dance offers…
Anyways, long story short: If you’re in Tbilisi, I invite you to join us this coming Thursday!🤗
