STEP BACK IN TIME AT OUR SPECTACULAR WEDDING DRESS EXHIBITION!
Sheriff Hutton Festival Church is delighted to be hosting a wonderful display of wedding dresses and wedding memorabilia at St Helen’s Church on 8th and 9th August from 11am to 3pm.
Come and explore a stunning collection of wedding dresses spanning the decades, alongside photographs, shoes, hats, bouquets and other treasured keepsakes. We’ll also be showcasing elegant going-away outfits, mother-of-the-bride ensembles and men’s suits, offering a fascinating glimpse into wedding fashion through the years.
Following the tremendous success of last year’s exhibition, we’re thrilled to be bringing this popular event back for another summer. The previous display featured dresses dating from 1928 right up to the present day. Some of the oldest and most delicate gowns were so fragile they had to be carefully laid flat rather than hung. With outfits representing every decade, visitors were captivated by the changing styles, fabrics and craftsmanship that have shaped wedding fashion over the past century.
To make your visit even more enjoyable, the ever-popular Bluebell Café will be open on both days, serving its delicious homemade cakes and refreshments—perfect for a treat while you browse.
Whether you're interested in local history, vintage fashion, family memories or simply fancy a lovely day out, this promises to be a fascinating and enjoyable event for all.
Admission is free, so why not come along and take a stroll through a century of wedding style? We look forward to welcoming you!
