Want your roses to go from flat to fabulous in seconds? 🌹✨

Turn them upside down, then give them a gentle spin and shimmy! It’s a simple little trick that can make a huge difference, helping the petals open up and show off their full, dramatic shape. Some roses respond more than others, but this Candy Xpression rose was absolutely GIVING! šŸ’–

P.S. Just look at how buzzing I am to realise my little artist’s painting has made a guest appearance in the background! šŸ˜†šŸŒˆ

Thursday thoughts 🌸

Today, one of my besties popped in for a coffee, and we did what you do with good friends: put the world to rights.

Somewhere between the coffee and the chatting, we found ourselves both playing with flowers, sharing ideas, getting creative and having a bit of fun. Which, of course, then turned into an impromptu photo and video shoot because apparently, the world runs on content these days!

I’ve held back from creating content for a while because my little ā€œstudioā€ is, in fact, my home garage, which I share with my builder husband and his ever-growing collection of tools. Not exactly the most aesthetically pleasing backdrop for a floral photoshoot!

But today’s Thursday mantra is WHO CARES?

Do you? Because honestly, I don’t!

It doesn’t stop me from working, doing what I love or creating beautiful blooms. Life isn’t perfect, so why should we feel the need to pretend it is?

So here I am, putting this out into the world, in the hope that you get a little glimpse of me, little old me, pottering away in my garage, absolutely loving life.

And feeling forever grateful that I have so many orders coming in and get to do what I love, creating beautiful flowers, every single day.

Sometimes, it’s not about having the perfect space, the perfect backdrop or the perfect content. It’s simply about showing up, enjoying what you do and being grateful for the little things. šŸ¤

I’m seeing more and more couples asking how they can make their wedding flowers more sustainable, and one of the simplest and most effective ways is to think beyond a single use.

Multi-purpose flowers allow you to make the most of every arrangement, creating impact throughout your day without duplicating the flowers needed for each space.

Meadow boxes are a perfect example. As seen here, these beautiful arrangements line the aisle, creating a natural and abundant walkway for the ceremony, before being moved to the top table to continue their story into the celebrations.

Bud vases are another wonderful way to maximise your flowers. Used to line the aisle, they can later be distributed across dining tables and throughout your venue, adding those considered little details wherever they’re needed most.

It’s all about thoughtful planning, making your flowers work harder and ensuring every stem has a purpose.

If you’re planning your wedding and would love to explore ways to create beautiful, sustainable florals without compromising on style, I’d love to hear from you.

I absolutely love receiving photographs from my couples. There’s something so lovely about seeing their day through their eyes and reliving all those little floral details that we poured so much love into.

A little throwback to N&G’s beautiful spring wedding at The Matara Centre back in April. A day filled with colour, considered details and plenty of floral magic. ✨

As I shared in my last post, my lovely bride’s mum had spent the summer quietly growing her own zinnias and cosmos to incorporate into her daughter’s wedding flowers. 🌸

It’s these little personal touches that not everyone will notice, but the people who matter most absolutely will — and I think that’s what makes them so special.

We added Hesper’s beautiful zinnias to all of the buttonholes, brides bouquet, pedestals and bud vases throughout the venue. It made me smile every time I spotted one, so I can only imagine what it meant to Joely and Alex to see them woven throughout their day.

Joely also asked for every buttonhole to be different, much like her bridesmaids’ bouquets, so we created slightly different versions for each of them.

With the bridesmaids and groomsmen all wearing different dresses and suits, it felt only right that their flowers should be just as individual — little details chosen to complement each person and their outfit.

Because sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference. 🌸
