Not many people can claim a shout out from Big Vern aka Vernon Kay on Radio 2 , as they are taking their final journey, but this incredible man 100% can.

As the cortège were making their way to the Chapel, a message was read out from his gorgeous grand-daughter

Micky P, you were, are and will always be one of the (very small) handful of true gentlemen that I let into my life. You were one of the first I met at Dolbys and we connected immediately. I will miss our chats, our catch-ups, your gossiping stories (and I still pinky promise not to repeat them), your infamous hip-flask, but by christ, I will miss those vice-grip hugs that often threatened to crack a rib or two. I am truly honoured, grateful and blessed to have had you in my life for the last 4 years.

Sometimes life absolutely sucks!!
It's unjust, unfair and downright rubbish.
How can saying "see you later" to this beautiful, kind, funny and genuinely lovely soul ever be right?
She had so many more adventures, so many more experiences and so much more love to give!
My heart cracked today and I struggled to keep it together while watching her devastated family try to move forward with their new 'normal'

Today was tough!
We should not have been in that Chapel saying "see you later" to a man who was literally larger than life!
It was wrong on every level 💔

On a personal level, being a friend and close colleague of the family hit harder and I had to take a few deep breaths. My heart really does hurt for them 💔

I'm always so very grateful to receive a message from my couples or families. It really does mean the world to me ❤️

I've been rather quiet on here lately, I'm still here and still working, it's been busy and I'm also getting everything done and finished before I close my diary for the month of August. I take the whole month off to spend it with my family and go on lots of travels and adventures.

Today we said goodbye to this absolute powerhouse. A packed out chapel and more outside, personalised Liverpool shirts and a sea of red everywhere I looked. There were a few f.bombs cos that's exactly how she would have said it.

Today was tough! I had the profound honour of leading a double funeral service, laying to rest a beloved mother and her son together.

It was a deeply moving and emotional ceremony, filled with love, remembrance, and reflection. To witness the strength of their family and friends coming together to celebrate two lives so closely connected was both heartbreaking and beautiful.

Holding space for grief while honouring their bond was a privilege I will never take lightly. May they now rest side by side in peace. 💔
