Behind all the wedding madness, there is a belief that I hold dear:

Every single person involved in any ceremony I deliver deserves to feel completely seen, entirely safe, and wildly celebrated.

As a woman and a passionate feminist, I know what it feels like to navigate spaces that weren't originally built for you. I understand the exhausting weight of having to fight just to be heard, respected, and valued for exactly who you are. I know what it means to want to feel safe, but to struggle to find safety.

​It’s that exact lived experience that fuels my fire to be inclusive and celebrate love. I can't pretend to know exactly how each individual feels, but I can bring you empathy from my own experiences. And that's what I do.

I know that for so many in the LGBTQIA+ community, and for those from diverse or marginalised backgrounds, the world hasn't always made space for you to just be. For you to feel safe.

Next year it'll be 10 years since we tied the knot!

We put sooo much love into our day - personalising the decor, having a cake of cheese, creating a party atmosphere which allowed our guests to really let their hair down.

It was wonderful.

But... if it knew then what I know now: I would ALWAYS choose a celebrant-led ceremony over a registrar.

Of course, I would say that, but hear me out:

💖 a celebrant only delivers one wedding per day, which means no rushing to the next appointment and completely dedication to your ceremony anc your day (our registrar was 30 minutes late arriving, which then delayed the rest of the day!)

💖 I can't remember the vows we made to each other, because they weren't our choice. They were standardised and numerous other couples would have said the same words we did, on the same day. With a Celebrant, you write your own vows, your ceremony holds space for your love story, and there id nothing more meaningful.

💖 Your Celebrant (in your case, me!) spends months getting to know you before your special day, understanding what you love about each other, your values, what makes you tick. The result? Someone you know and trust leads your ceremony and brings your love story to life. You get this special moment celebrating YOU, and bringing all your guests into that circle of love to celebrate with you (our registrar got my Sister-in-Law's name wrong TWICE!)

💖 unlimited flexibility: if you book me as a celebrant, you can have your ceremony any way you want. If you want a midnight handfasting, let's do it!

✨ Spinning Around (& feeling a bit emotional) ✨

​Those who know and love me know that I am saying this with absolutely zero shame: I have been head-over-heels in love with Kylie Minogue since I was literally 3 years old. 💖

I’ve seen her in concert twice (I cried the first time when she rose from beneath the stage 10ft in front of me) lived through every era, and yes, I completely lost myself in her new documentary this week.

​Aside from the pure nostalgia, watching her story made me reflect so deeply on what makes her such an icon and how we can all live our lives. It’s her unwavering authenticity that makes her truly special. And authenticity is really what we should all strive for. Through every high, low, and public reinvention, Kylie has stayed inherently, beautifully herself.

​It made me think about how much pressure we all face to fit into boxes—especially when it comes to major life milestones like weddings, birthdays, vow renewals and even funerals. But, something wonderful happens when we stop trying to please everyone else, filter out the noise: there is true peace.

​This is where I am going to be really honest: parts of her journey hit incredibly close to home andxI really sobbed. Hearing her speak so openly about IVF, and that constant, heavy societal pressure of being asked "when are you having children?" really resonated with my own path. It’s a quiet ache that a lot of us carry.

Her cancer story resonated too - especially Dannii's recollection of supporting a family member going through treatment. The pain and love echoed in equal parts.

​My take away was this: Kylie found that her ultimate love is performing and entertaining - she literally "lights up" when she sees how she makes others happy. And for me? I’ve realised that my love is helping people celebrate theirs. Stepping into a couple's life and helping them honour their bond is where my heart truly belongs. It’s healed parts of me I didn't expect.

​We all have our own unique purpose and our own ways of sharing love with the world. Sending so much love to anyone else who found a bit of themselves in her story this week. 💕

Wait, why is the law so restrictive? 🏛️📜

​Welcome to the final part of "The Legal Bit." By now, you know that while a celebrant makes your ceremony magical, you still need that registrar appointment to make it "legal." But why is it so complicated?

​The truth? English marriage laws are massively outdated. Many of the rules we follow today were written hundreds of years ago (we’re talking 1836!). Back then, the law was designed to control where you married, focusing on buildings rather than the people or the ceremony itself.
​The world has changed, but the law is still catching up.

​✊ The Good News: Change is Coming!
​There is a huge movement happening right now to bring our wedding laws into the 21st century. The "Give Couples Choice" movement is campaigning for a fairer system where the law focuses on the officiant (the person), not the building.
