Gardenia of London Gardenia: London's Sustainable Florist
PETALS. PLANET. PROMISE. The world (and its flowers) according to Gardenia. Our heart is on the high street.

We are committed to delivering flowers with a conscience - operating plastic-free and recycling all green waste into new compost through a closed-loop process. We are passionately positive about petals, people and the planet. Our packaging is 100% plastic-free; we pay our suppliers fairly; and we’re a London Living Wage employer. Gardenia is an independent, family-run floristry business and we lov

e being part of your local high street. But what sets us apart from the flowery crowd is our positive approach. We believe that we do a great deal more to deliver against exacting environmental standards and ensure that we are good to the people around us.

🌿 We’re Hiring - Apprentice Florist 🌿

Love flowers? Creative? Looking for a career rather than just a job?

We’re looking for an Apprentice Florist to join our team in Wimbledon and learn the craft of professional floristry whilst gaining a fully funded qualification.

Over the course of the apprenticeship you’ll gain hands-on experience creating bouquets, helping with weddings and events, working with customers and learning how a busy independent florist operates.

At Gardenia, sustainability sits at the heart of what we do. We use 100% home-compostable packaging, send none of our waste to landfill and believe floristry can balance beauty and practicality.

✨ No previous floristry experience required
✨ Fully funded Level 2 Florist Apprenticeship
✨ Work with premium seasonal flowers
✨ Weddings, events and retail floristry
✨ Supportive team and structured training
✨ Summer 2026 start

If you’re enthusiastic, reliable and excited to learn a genuine craft, we’d love to hear from you.

Tulip season is nearly over… and Tasha isn’t ready to let go 🌷

Arms full, shoulders doing the heavy lifting, and still going back for more. These deep red tulips - rich, velvety, almost like a good claret - alongside those beautifully fringed heads… it’s a bit of a last hurrah.

They only come like this for a short window - soft, generous, a little wild - and then they’re gone.

A few days left at most, we think. If you’ve been thinking about tulips, now’s the moment.

There is something quietly powerful about seeing where things return to.

Today we visited the Shorts Group green waste site with .uk – following the full journey of our floral waste, from armfuls of stems and faded blooms to rich, living compost.

It’s not glamorous, but it is deeply reassuring. Piles gently steaming, carefully turned, monitored, and nurtured – a process that mirrors nature itself. Nothing rushed. Nothing wasted.

To witness that level of care, intention, and respect for materials was genuinely inspiring. What leaves our shop at the end of its life doesn’t end there – it’s transformed, restored, and returned to the soil.

This is what a true closed loop looks like.
And it matters.

A heartfelt thank you to COM:POST and Shorts Group for showing us the detail, the discipline, and the belief behind it all. It’s partnerships like this that allow us to keep building a more thoughtful, sustainable way of working – one stem at a time.

Mother’s Day weekend is almost here and the shop is starting to feel properly spring-like.

Hellebores, ranunculus, tulips, clematis and blossom – buckets of beautiful stems arriving each morning and the whole place smelling incredible.

If flowers for Mum are on your list, we’re here all week and the shop will be absolutely bursting with flowers right through the weekend.

Pop in and choose your favourite, or send a little piece of Gardenia anywhere in the UK.

It’s going to be a lovely one. 🌸

Valentine’s week in the shop 🌹

Fresh roses arriving daily, cards being handwritten, and Lucy and the team in their element - creating beautiful bouquets with real care.

Flowers are heading out across Wimbledon Village, SW London, and beyond, marking small but meaningful moments.

If you’re still planning to send flowers this Valentine’s Day, now is a good moment to choose. Delivery slots are kept intentionally limited so everything leaves the shop looking just right.

Shop the collection via the link in bio.

Thoughtful Valentine’s Roses 🌹

Every February, roses come with questions – about sourcing, sustainability, and footprint.

At Gardenia, we don’t shy away from that conversation.
Flowers are a luxury, and they should be chosen with care.

This year, our red roses come from Porta Nova, a leading Dutch grower of the iconic Red Naomi rose – widely recognised as one of the most responsibly grown red roses available today.

Porta Nova combine extraordinary beauty with serious environmental commitment – modern greenhouses, rainwater recycling, energy-saving systems, and even renewable wind energy as part of their growing process.

Velvety, deep red, beautifully long-lasting…
and grown with some of the highest sustainability standards in the industry.

Valentine’s should feel special – and thoughtful too.
