Saturday's Afternoon Tea at Cibo Gran Café was such a lovely afternoon ☕✨

Seven of us spent a few hours eating our way through tiered stands of sandwiches, cakes and scones, chatting away and somehow losing track of time completely.

It was one of those socials that reminded me how much I enjoy the slower-paced events. Everyone had glammed up, the sunshine was streaming through the open windows, and there was a really lovely atmosphere around the table all afternoon.

One of the nicest things about events like this is seeing newer members settling in alongside women who have been coming along for months. It never feels forced. People simply sit down, start chatting, and before long it feels like everyone has known each other far longer than they actually have.

A huge thank you to everyone at Cibo Gran Café for looking after us so wonderfully. The food was incredible, the service was impeccable, and the setting was absolutely perfect.

A really lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon 💛

Last night we headed to Destination Padel Cheadle for an Intro to Padel session - and it was such a good evening 🎾

A little bit of learning, a lot of laughing, and lots of people discovering they enjoyed it far more than they expected to!

One of the nicest things about trying something new together is that nobody expects you to be brilliant at it. Everyone is figuring it out, having a go, and usually surprising themselves along the way.

A really lovely evening - and a big thank you to the Jo our fabulous coach and the team at Destination Padel for a brilliant session.

Can we talk about the bit nobody really mentions?

Booking the event and actually walking through the door for the first time are two very different things.

If you've ever felt nervous beforehand, worried everyone will already know each other, or wondered whether to still come because walking in alone feels intimidating - you're definitely not the only one.

The truth is, most people feel nervous before their first event (usually much more nervous than they expected to).

What tends to happen though, is that very quickly people realise everyone else felt exactly the same. Most members don't already know each other - they're showing up hoping to meet other people too.

And gradually it starts to feel easier. You recognise familiar faces, pick conversations back up, and feel more comfortable each time.

The first one is almost always the hardest 💛

Sunday's Social Stroll turned out to be one of those really lovely slower-paced mornings - sunshine, lots of good chat, and a few hours that somehow flew by.

One thing I've noticed with The Co. is that not every event needs to be big or busy to be enjoyable. Sometimes the quieter socials are actually the easiest ones to settle into, properly chat, and get to know people a bit better.

A really lovely way to spend a Sunday morning 💛

There's been a really lovely atmosphere inside The Co. lately.

From a more dressed-up evening at Victors, to last night's very competitive quiz at Suburban Green (where one of our teams somehow managed to win all three prizes 😂), it feels like things are really starting to build naturally.

What's been nicest to see is how quickly familiar faces start to form - members recognising each other, settling in more easily, and conversations picking back up from the previous event.

It's easy to think these things happen instantly, but in reality it's usually the regular little moments that make the biggest difference over time.

(And a very honourable mention to Frank Entertainment for probably wondering who on earth invited us to quiz night 😂)

We often think about health and wellbeing in terms of what we eat, how we exercise, or the products we use...

But one of the most important factors is something much simpler.

On Wednesday evening at Liz Earle's talk on How to Age, she spoke about the importance of human connection - friendships, community, and regular social interaction - and the impact it has on how we feel over time.

Not in a big or dramatic way - just in those small, everyday moments we probably don't think much about.

It's something that's easy to underestimate, but it came through really clearly.

It's also something we see in a very natural way inside The Women's Social Co. - in the small moments, the familiar faces, and the ease that builds over time.

It might seem simple, but it really does make more of a difference than we realise.

This week we did something a little different inside The Co… and it turned out to be such a lovely evening.

15 of us came together for our Sculpt & Glow session with GlowInc - in a gorgeous setting, with a glass of Prosecco in hand, and at one point, a room full of women stretching their faces and practising Gua Sha techniques together…

I can only imagine what anyone looking in from the pub thought was going on 🤭

We learnt the techniques behind buccal massage, lymphatic drainage and Gua Sha - starting with a live demonstration (thank you to our volunteer!) and then practising ourselves with guidance throughout.

It was informative, relaxed, and a really enjoyable way to spend the evening - with lots of laughter along the way.

These kinds of events add something a bit special alongside our usual socials, and often end up being the ones people are most pleasantly surprised by.

A big thank you to Isi & Andrea at GlowInc for such a brilliant session - we all absolutely loved it.

Not your typical Saturday plans...

Clay pigeon shooting isn't exactly something most people would book on their own - which is exactly why it works so well in this setting.

There was a mix of nerves at the start, a few surprisingly good shots, and a lot of laughing in between.

What's interesting about days like this is that people don't arrive because they already know everyone. Most come along not quite knowing what to expect - either from the activity or the group.

And yet within a short space of time, it just feels completely normal.

No pressure to be good at it, no pressure to already know anyone - just the shared experience of trying something a bit different together.

And that's usually where it starts.

Thanks Cloudside Shooting & Sporting Club for your fantastic coaching, and lunch of course!

It is so lovely to see so many new faces joining our community this week! 👋✨

If you’ve found us through a local recommendation recently, welcome. We are The Women’s Social Co., and we’re on a mission to make sure no woman in Cheshire has to look at a Saturday night (or a Tuesday morning!) and wonder who she’s going to spend it with.

We know how easy it is for your social life to fall to the bottom of the "to-do" list. We’re here to help you move it back to the top with a calendar of events ranging from relaxed walks to high-energy days out.

Where we stand this April:
✅ Ladies Day at Chester Races: Now Sold Out.
✅ Sculpt & Glow Gua Sha Workshop: 1 space left.
✅ Clay Pigeon Shooting: 2 spaces left.
✅ Thirsty Thursday: Joining us for drinks this week? Check the app for location details!

New to The Co?
The best way to get involved is through our community app. Our Core members get priority booking for all events (which is how the Races sold out so quickly!), and we’ll be starting to announce our May Calendar inside the app this Sunday.

We can't wait to meet you at an event soon. 🥂

Is it just us, or does everything feel a little more possible once the clocks go forward? ☀

This Sunday, we get that extra hour of daylight back. It's a small shift, but a significant one. It's the transition from the "hibernation" of winter to the "connection" of spring.

We talk a lot about "making time" in this community, because we know how easy it is for your own social life to fall to the bottom of the priority list. This season, we'd love to help you move it back to the top.

Where we stand this Friday:
🎟 Chester Races Update: We are down to our final 4 spaces! Deposits for Ladies Day officially close tonight at 8:00pm. If you want to be part of this high-energy day out in August, head to the link in our about section to secure your place before the window closes.
📅 Looking ahead to April: Check back in to our community this Sunday for our "Sunday at The Co." update. We'll be revealing the venue for next Thursday's Thirsty Thursday drinks and reminding you of the last few spots across our April calendar.

How are you planning to use your "extra" hour of light this weekend? 👇
