A whole year of The Women's Social Co. 💜
This weekend marks a year since we gathered at the Coach & Four Wilmslow for our launch night.
We had plenty of ideas about what we wanted The Co. to be, but there was still one fairly important unknown that evening... how many women were actually going to walk through the door!
Some faces that evening were familiar and some were completely new. None of us really knew what The Co. would look like twelve months later - but we knew what we wanted it to feel like.
We wanted to create somewhere women could comfortably turn up on their own. Somewhere there would regularly be something in the diary to look forward to. Somewhere you wouldn't simply meet someone once and never see them again.
And, importantly, we wanted members to help shape it.
Over the last year, women have suggested things they'd love to do, voted on plans, chatted before events, carried on conversations afterwards and gradually got to know the faces they see again and again. Our socials might be what get us out of the house, but the community we're building around them is what makes The Co. what it is.
And that belongs to every woman who has been part of our first year - whether you joined us right at the beginning or walked into your first Social much more recently 💛
Next week marks a year since our very first Social, which means we're claiming October as our birthday month 🎂
We'll be celebrating the women, places and moments that have made Year One what it was, there might be a few little surprises along the way, and we'll be looking ahead to everything still to come.
For now, though, here's to everyone who helped make our first year The Co. 🥂
