Well... its been a crazy few months for Spuddies Catering ðĪŊðĪŊ I feel like we just landed here, no introductions, no back story, not alot really other than just the odd announcement of where we are, where we've been, or where we're going SOOOOOOOO....

WHO IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND SPUDDIES CATERING? WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM?
HOW HAVE I ENDED UP WITH SPUDDIES CATERING...
SIT TIGHT BECAUSE ITS A REAL JOURNEY ðĒ ðĒ ð
So... Its me, im Natasha from Bolton. A 34year old mum of 2.
My experience in Mobile Catering came from spending time, in my younger years, cos im getting on now ðĪĢ, travelling with a local showman funfair and I still help out, particularly over busy periods like bonfire night with their mobile catering units... they taught me alot and I believe Im quite a dab hand now âïļ
As I navigated this thing we call life, I left and went on to pursue a career 1st of all as a youth worker, with lots of varying roles and further and higher education in between, to where I am now, a team leader working in substance misuse and family safeguarding.
In December or maybe January this year... I had an ADHD moment (yes, im diagnosed), and in that moment I decided that I wanted my own mobile catering trailer. With my daughter due to start school this year, i want to have more choice with my working pattern to be present as a parent and unfortunately the average 9-5, for me, is a barrier to that. SOOOOOO...With the help of family & friends I found one and well... the rest is history or so they say ð
After months of hardwork, set backs and just numerous issues, we attended our 1st event AND I LOVED IT! Albeit, daunting. I mean I've worked for other people at events BUT, it's never been all of my responsibility and that was ðĐ scary but it was a success ð THEN we took 2 BIG financial hits with some events that followed this, i mean, disheartened but more determined to give this a real shot; I decided to hand in my notice at work & from the 7th July, Spuddies will be my full time job- a HUGE leap for me BUT as my friend says... im extreme, I do things to the extreme and this is just another example of those extremities ð
Im not nieve... im completely aware that it takes time to get established and build a reputation, , im aware that i may take some financial losses and it's about finding what works for Spuddies and that includes the family ðĻâðĐâðĶâðĶ @ home ð
SO WHY 'SPUDDIES CATERING'?
A question im frequently asked ðĪ
So here goes ðŽðŽ We all know that ðĨ spuds have become popular through the well known bro's and most people think it's influenced by this but in reality it's actually not... the name comes from my childhood nick name ðĪĢðĪĢ born with no hair and a little baldie until toddler age, my nick name was spuddy- obviously I must have resembled a potato ð
so there you go, this is how I decided on 'Spuddies Catering'. Very apt in my opinion ð
SO WHATS THE PLAN ??
Plans don't sit well with neurodivergent people like me, we wing things, we're tenacious and we try new things, we get excited at the thought of new challenges so there is no definitive long term plan however, ive got a 3 month one so hopefully this'll do for now...
Spuddies catering will be based on a permanent plot in Leigh from next Monday ð only, the plot is not accessible to the public and we will be based on a private business park; for a 3 month trial to see if it works for everyone involved... if it does then ð but if it doesn't, it'll be back to the drawing board to seek out other trading opportunities.
The plan is to take the unit to events, I mean local events, grassroot sports tournament days, village fetes types of events because as I've found really early on... big events just don't work for me right now.
WHAT AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO ??
Im really looking forward to being my own boss, having autonomy over my working hours and having the flexibility to be more present as a parent ð
Im looking forward to meeting new people and not having to carry a heavy mental load ð
Im looking forward to making connections with local businesses, event organisers and being present at local events, catering to suit individual requirements
