💕 Things Brides Say During a Bridal Appointment… 💕

After meeting so many wonderful brides over the years, I’ve realised there are a few phrases I hear time and time again… and they always make me smile and sometimes even chuckle.

“I’m just looking today.”
That Is perfectly fine, there is never any expectation to do anything more than that at a first try on.

“I’m definitely not wearing anything fitted”
Then usually falling in love with the most beautiful figure hugging gown.

“I don’t want anything with sparkle or beads”
They buy the sparkiest gown in the shop and love it.

“Can I just try that one on… even though I know it’s not really me”
The wild card, so very often the game changer.

“I don’t think I’ll find my dress today”
Keep an open mind, you may surprise yourself.

The truth is, there isn’t a “typical” bridal appointment.

Some brides laugh. Some cry. Some know instantly. Some need a little time and every single journey is just as special as the next.

One of my favourite parts of my job is watching those little moments unfold, because no matter how many appointments I have, every bride’s story is completely unique.

💕Why do I recommend bringing just a few loved ones? 💕

“Can I bring a big group with me?”

The honest answer is that Simply Wed Bridal may not be the right fit if you’re hoping for a large bridal entourage… and that’s absolutely fine.
I’ve intentionally created a calm, private and personal experience, with space for you and up to three , max of four of your closest loved ones.

Why?

Because I’ve seen time and time again how much easier it is for brides to discover what they truly love when they’re surrounded by the people who know them best.
A larger group naturally brings more opinions, personalities and more expectations. Before you know it, it can for some become very overwhelming.
The loudest voice in the room shouldn’t be the one that chooses your wedding dress. It’s your time to shine.

One of the loveliest parts of keeping your group small is that it also preserves a little of the magic.
Think about it, how special is it for your bridesmaids, close friends and family members to see you for the very first time on your wedding day,not standing on a podium…
But walking towards them with your hair beautifully styled, your make up complete, your flowers in hand and every little detail coming together exactly as you’ve imagined.

Those reactions are completely priceless, and I honestly think they’re part of the magic of a wedding day. Not to mention an incredible opportunity for your photographer to capture. ‘That first look’.

My boutique isn’t designed for big crowds. It’s designed for meaningful conversations, happy tears, genuine excitement and helping you feel completely comfortable and at ease while you find the one.

If you’re dreaming of a lively group celebration with lots of guests, another boutique may offer an experience that’s better suited to you.

But if you’d love a relaxed, exclusive appointment where your voice is heard, your closest loved ones are by your side and every moment is centred around you, I’d be honoured to be part of your bridal journey.

💕Sometimes it’s the unexpected acts of kindness that really take your breath away 💕

This afternoon, during collecting her wedding dress to take for alterations, my lovely bride Amy arrived with this beautiful bouquet of flowers as a thank you.

Running Simply Wed Bridal has never been about receiving gifts, and they are never expected. Knowing that a bride has enjoyed her experience enough to want to say thank you in such a thoughtful way is just so lovely.

Helping someone find the dress they’ll wear on one of the most important days of their life is a privilege that I’ll never take for granted. To know that Amy felt cared for, supported and comfortable throughout her bridal journey with me is the best feeling ever and the biggest compliment I could ask for.

Amy, thank you so much for your kindness. Your beautiful flowers have brightened my home but even more than that, your thoughtful gesture has truly made my day.

💕Comparison can be the thief of joy… especially when choosing your wedding dress. 💕

Can we talk about something I hear quite often from brides?
There isn’t a prize for visiting the most bridal boutiques. There isn’t a prize for trying on the most dresses. And finding your dress in the very first boutique doesn’t mean you’ve chosen too quickly.

One of the biggest worries I hear from brides is:
“What if I find my dress today? Shouldn’t I keep looking just in case there’s something better?”
The truth is, there is no “right” way to find your wedding dress. Some brides fall in love with the very first dress they try on. Some visit several boutiques before everything clicks. Some need time to think. Others simply know.

Every single one of those journeys is completely valid.

Social media is full of beautiful bridal moments, but it can sometimes leave us wondering whether we’re doing it “right.”
Please don’t let comparison steal the joy from your own experience. If you’ve found a dress that makes you stand a little taller, smile a little brighter and feels completely like yourself…

Don’t be afraid to trust that feeling. The right dress isn’t the one that took the longest to find. It isn’t the one that received the biggest reaction.
It’s the one that makes you feel the most confident and beautiful version of yourself.
Your bridal journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s, it only has to feel right for you.
