Today we’re proud to share the launch of the Fresh Start Fund.
From now on, £5 from every booking through both Picture Perfect Parties and Pitter Patter Play Hire will go towards helping families with children fleeing domestic abuse.

Today I had an idea that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about, and I wanted to share it with you because it means so much to me.
In December 2013, my son and I fled an abusive relationship.
We left with nothing but the clothes on our backs and £40 in the bank.
I couldn’t access my local domestic abuse service because my ex-partner’s sister worked there at the time. I also approached the council for housing, but because I’d fled so quickly and left my proof of address behind, they refused to house us.
Thankfully, I had family to help. They gave us somewhere safe to stay, bought us clothes, nappies and other essentials, and helped us rebuild our lives. With their support, and after obtaining a restraining order, I was eventually able to save enough to rent a home of our own.
I know just how lucky we were.
Because not everyone has a village to lean on or access to the support they need.
There are parents who leave with their children and have nobody. No spare room. No one to buy nappies. No one to help with food or clothes while they try to find safety.
That experience has inspired an idea that I hope will make a difference.
If you’ve followed our journey, you’ll know that through both Pitter Patter Play Hire and our adult events business, Picture Perfect Parties, we’ve always loved giving back to our community. We’ve proudly sponsored the the squalla cup charity darts event for two years running and supported the BoxClever SEN showcase.
We’ve always tried to give back to our community where we can, but I’ve wanted to create something of my own for such a long time. I finally feel like now is the right time to do it.
I’m creating the Fresh Start Fund.
For every booking made through Pitter Patter Play Hire and Picture Perfect Parties, I’ll put £5 aside to build this fund.
It won’t happen overnight, but my hope is that, as the fund grows, I’ll be able to provide practical support to parents with children who are fleeing domestic abuse. Things like supermarket vouchers, children’s clothing, new pyjamas, toiletries and other everyday essentials that can make those first few days a little less overwhelming.
The Fresh Start Fund will begin with £5 from every booking, and as it grows, I hope to support it through occasional fundraising and community support too, so together we can help even more families.
I want this fund to be there not only for families already accessing support services, but also for those who, for whatever reason, don’t feel able to. I understand that everyone’s circumstances are different because I’ve lived it myself.
My hope is that every children’s party booked with us helps another child and their parent take the first steps towards a safer future.
To help kickstart the Fresh Start Fund, I’ll be running a fundraiser over the next few days, giving you the chance to win a beautifully decorated box of cupcakes.
Perfect for any occasion – whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, family gathering or simply a treat for yourself. Whether you have a soft play booking with us or not, everyone is welcome to get involved.
Every contribution will help take the first steps towards supporting families rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse.

I never imagined when I set up this business just how many families’ celebrations we would be a part of. Now, my hope is that together we can help at least one family fleeing domestic abuse take those first steps towards rebuilding their life too. ❤️
