Happy 105th birthday Jack! 🎂

It’s not every day you can say that you’ve been invited to celebrate a 105th birthday. Jack is one of the nicest gentleman I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many times over the past two years at Timken Grange care home in Duston, as he sipped his beer, he casually said “right then boy, what are we doing? I’m still full up on my fish, chips and mushy peas” before telling me of a fab fish n chip shop that used to be at the location before the Grosvenor Centre was built.

This afternoon we enjoyed music from each decade, beginning with the 1920’s “down by the riverside” a lively opening song that got us clapping and then the 1930’s and 40’s “Bye bye blackbird” before a quick costume change into the 50’s, the Monkees had us arm swaying like Daydream believers, grapevined our way through some classic country songs before hitting the disco decade of the 70’s hard and with wild abandonment!

Wendy read a very comical Michael Palin poem and Hillary sang us not one but TWO songs to great cheer.

Jack was presented the most beautiful collage of photos for home manager Louise, a collection of wonderful memories they looked stunning in the white frame.

I wish you the very best for the rest of your upcoming celebrations Jack and I’ll look out for you on the news my celebrity friend.

A privilege and an honour to share today with you.

Camera lady shout out goes to: Dr Helen “the Hell raiser” AS (Mdf) ❤️🪩

Thank you to my soul mate Betsy Lynne Young for capturing these precious moments and for sharing this incredible journey with me. Nothing warms my heart more than to see the ladies and gentlemen dancing with each other and seeing their light shine. Everyone at Montague House Care Home best of luck in your pending CQC inspection - you are all outstanding in everything you do. ❤️

first show back yesterday since mums funeral Friday - this show felt different, in a way difficult to explain fully, I felt as if I was channeling pure love, totally letting go and being present in the moment. Like an awakening. Feeling very blessed to be able to share joy through music and dance. I’ll never take these opportunities for granted. Xx

My brothers and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Mums funeral on Friday.

The day went perfectly and really felt like a true celebration of her life.

If we had more time I would have given personal thanks to a lot more friends, family and neighbours who touched our lives in so many ways.

The celebration of life at Doddington club was an uplifting tribute in song and dance, who knew we would be treated to an impromptu performance of rapping skills from Laura Pati Parker Clark who literally had us in awe as she sang 90’s classics and then a little Chas n Dave.

Thank you to John at Margaret Rose Funeral Directors of Finedon, our Celebrant Heather and Sarah and team at Doddington Club for making the day special and easing us in to the preparations with such kindness and compassion.

The funeral is available as a down load link for anyone who wasn’t able to attend (link is in the previous post)

Personal apology to the Harris family for that shock of hearing about Dads extra 4 siblings (my error completely, he had a total of 11 not 15 brothers and sisters) please forgive me.

Mum will remain forever in our hearts and would want to be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her courage, kindness and her laugh.

Cherish your loved ones dearly for none of us know what tomorrow brings.

Don’t sweat the small stuff, bury those hatchets, make amends.

Make each day count ❤️

It was the biggest honour to be invited to celebrate Mavis’ 100th birthday with her and her family today at Cambridge Grove Care Home

It was my first show back and I know my Mum was with me every dance step and every note sang.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, love and there was a real sense of unity.

Thank you Amy, Andrea, Rosie and Home manager Benita. I can’t think of a better way to jump back into my shows. Mum would be so proud. Thank you for my flowers and beautiful card🌹 myself and Lynne Young (Betsy) look forward to seeing you all again end of May ❤️

🕊️🙏🏼 UPDATE - Mums wake is booked for 12:45pm - 5pm at Doddington club 17th April (Funeral Nene Valley crem 12pm)

All welcome to celebrate this incredible lady’s life and spirit. Only family flowers and mum requested any donations to British heart foundation. Let’s give her the best send off she would be proud of!

It is with great sadness that I wish to let you know that my Mum JESSIE fell asleep for the last time last Saturday, peacefully at home with her sons by her side. It was a beautiful sunset and her favourite song was playing.

She had been through so much, she battled dementia defiantly and never losing her zest for life or her humour. She had a stoke end of January and in spite of the drs writing her chances off within the first 3 days, she went on to prove them all wrong, waking gradually and even swallowing again and saying a few words. Mum did receive amazing care from NGH and we are very grateful to them all for giving her the chance she wanted. 7 weeks later we were able to bring her home where she spent her last weeks looking at blue sky out of her window, the birds and seeing her friends and family.

Her funeral is taking place at Nene valley crem, April 17th at 12pm - all welcome

It’s going to be a celebration of her life and she has chosen her songs and hymns.

She is now our beautiful angel

Always missed and always in our hearts

First show of the year! It was the biggest honour to be invited to celebrate Derek’s 90th birthday with him and his friends and family this afternoon. Music has always been such a large part of Derek’s life. A talented singer himself, we teared up as he sang his favourite songs: moon River being one of them. We love you. ❤️

I primarily use my business page now: sunset magic, but wanted to wish you all a very:

Merry Christmas from me and Mum. New meds from the wonderful Dr Ellis means mum has slept better in last few days than she has in nearly a year. No anxiety or agitation, no zombie effects in the day. Doesn’t increase dementia confusion: Game changer. Dr Ellis even recommended natural remedies such as MCT oil and creatine which I’ve begun. Took 10 months of repeat requests to get to this point but better late than never as they say.

Thank you to our family in Florida for their beautiful card and to Aunty Val in New Zealand for their annual letter which I shall be reading to mum later today.

Also thank you for the lovely card Aunty Rosemary and uncle Richard.

Sending you lots of love.

More than ever this time of year has made me extremely humble, grateful and I feel blessed for all I have in this life. Family and friends and Dukes Court family where I work as bank staff now, allowing me to care for mum full time and visit other care homes to perform my shows. It’s a much better work life balance.

Our loved ones in heaven remain in our prayers daily, Aunty Chris, Bridge Uncle Richard and my mums brothers David, Ron and Ken. My Dad Bob: I’m enjoying a glass of baileys for you today.

Merry Christmas Aunty Gill and Earle. ❤️

Getting used to the new normal is still an ongoing process and it’s easier just to take each day at a time.

Special thanks to Caremark Northampton for providing outstanding home care. This morning they arrived smiling and laughing to assist mum to begin her day.

Sending lots of love to Pauline - it’s been such a tough year for you and we love you very much.

Thank you to Betsy and B***y for the laughs, adventures and support ❤️
