To all who took to the streets of Berlin,
The cowardly attack that sought to bring fear and darkness to Berlin Pride is a stark, painful reminder of the hostility our communities still face.
Our hearts go out to those affected, and we condemn this senseless act of violence in the strongest possible terms. Hate has no place in our streets, our cities, or our world.
Yet, in the face of this violence, your response has been a powerful testament to human courage. Pride events remain more important than ever because they are an act of fierce defiance. When intimidation rears its head, showing up, standing tall, and refusing to hide is the ultimate response.
Pride creates safe havens of community, offers a lifeline of representation to those who need it most, and loudly declares that human rights are non-negotiable.
Know that you do not stand alone. Across borders and communities, allies and advocates stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you, grieving the safety that was threatened, but deeply inspired by the unbreakable spirit you continue to show.
No matter the darkness or the cowardly acts of prejudice, hope and love will always win over hate.
Love is resilient, it is transformative, and it is a light that no amount of violence can ever extinguish.
Stand proud, support one another, and keep shining.
Your courage lights the way forward for us all.
