This will be the last WANITA party in 2026 so we’re making it extra special by having two amazing guest DJs 🪩🪅

🌟 Melanie Xulu is the founder and editor of Magazine, a small-print countercultural music & arts publication with a penchant for the more obscure. She also hosts a few radio shows, promotes live shows across London and writes a music column for The Idler. An avid record collector of rare & underground sounds from around the world, you can expect an eclectic selection of left-field funk, folk, psych and soundtracks.

⚡Becks has been running nights all over London for a number of years now, including , In for the Kill and her most recent project Mirror Kissers. She has a broad collection of 60s and 70s vinyl ranging from underground Glam rock, Garage, Heavy rock and even some Disco & Funk. She absolutely loves the concept of Wanita highlighting female-based music, which can be so criminally underplayed in DJ sets. Guilty of it herself, Becks is really looking forward to showcasing some of her own collection, which she doesn’t always get the chance to play. Expect to hear everything from stomping Glam rock queens, sleazy female Garage vocals & of course some of her signature Disco sounds.

✨ WANITA 22 MAY DJ ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

We are thrilled to announce our second guest DJ, who will be playing at the Wanita party tomorrow night at 🎉: Natalie Shooter

Natalie Shooter is a DJ, music writer and researcher who co-runs the cult Beirut Groove Collective clubnight alongside Ernesto Chahoud. Founded in Beirut in 2009 and now based in London, the BGC is dedicated to underground and adventurous clubbing records spanning the SWANA region, Africa and beyond. Rooted in Beirut’s formative decades as a cosmopolitan musical crossroads, the night draws on pioneering records and subcultures of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Natalie’s eclectic sets move through Arabic funk and bellydance disco, Ethiopian jazz, Anatolian rock, rare soul, rhythm and blues and psychedelia. Alongside DJing, she has researched and written extensively about music, particularly from the SWANA region, and produced several comps and releases, including last year’s ‘Une Voix M’appelle: a deep dive into the modern Lebanese music adventure through the catalogue of Voix de L’Orient.’

🎶 Three tracks Natalie will be spinning on the night:
💜 Georgette Sayegh - Naturny
💜 Christine Perfect - No road is the right road
💜 Taroub - Tiki Tiki Tak
