🛼💙 5HRS LEFT… LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLLER 2026! 💚🧡

After another two brilliant weeks, our Pop-Up Roller Rink at the MetroCentre is rolling to a close! 🛼✨

We’ve welcomed thousands of skaters onto the rink — from complete beginners taking their first tentative roll, to families skating together, young people finding a new passion and plenty of familiar faces coming back for just one more go! 🙌

But sometimes it’s the little things that remind us exactly why we do what we do. 💙

On our final weekend, we received this beautiful handmade card from Isabella, who wrote:

“Thank you for bringing your wonderful rink to the MetroCentre again! I’ve had a brilliant time and you are all so friendly.”

She even gave a special thank you to Mandy for her “gorgeous pom poms!” 🥹😂

Honestly, what a lovely thing to receive.

Events like this take a huge amount of work behind the scenes — from building the rink overnight, laying thousands of floor tiles and fitting barriers, to skate hire, cleaning, maintenance and then welcoming skaters day after day.

So a MASSIVE thank you to our incredible Power Through Sport team who have worked tirelessly to make it happen. 👏

And most importantly, thank you to every single person who came down and skated with us. Whether you visited once or practically became part of the furniture, you've helped make the last two weeks incredibly special.

Every skate also helps support the wider work of Power Through Sport, allowing us to continue creating affordable and accessible opportunities for children, young people and families across our communities. ❤️

And Isabella… we hope we see you again at Christmas too! 🎄🛼

🥅🏒 FIRST TOURNAMENT GOAL FOR ZIGGY! 🏒🥅

A massive well done to Ziggy, who bagged his first ever tournament goal at the Toxic Roller Hockey Tournament! 🔥👏

There’s nothing quite like that first one! 🚨

Brilliant to see the hard work paying off and another big milestone ticked off. Hopefully the first of MANY! 💪🥷

🛼 TEMPLE PARK – NO ROLLER DISCO TONIGHT! 🛼

Just a quick reminder that our Temple Park Roller Disco is NOT running tonight (Friday 28th August).
Don’t worry though… we’ll be BACK IN ACTION NEXT FRIDAY! 💥🛼

Let The Good Times Roller 2026 is still rolling at Metrocentre, Exhibition Square – just outside Primark – right through until 31st August! 💗

We’ve got sessions running throughout the day, from decade-themed skates and today’s hits to request sessions and Learn to Skate.

🛼 30 minutes – £5
🛼 Up to 1 hour – £8

🌟 Learn to Skate sessions
🌈 Inclusive/SEND sessions – quieter sessions with no lights or music
🎶 Decade-themed skates throughout the day
🎤 Request sessions to finish off the day – excluding Sundays

Make the most of the last bit of the summer holidays and squeeze in a skate before the chaotic back-to-school routine begins! 😅📚

From young people showing off their skills and trying new tricks, to getting involved in activities, catching up with friends and engaging with our team — these photos capture what Park Nights is all about.

Our detached youth provision creates a positive, welcoming space for young people to spend time with friends, get active, try something different and have trusted youth workers there to chat to and support them.

We’re at Richardson Dees Park every Wednesday, 5:30–7:30pm throughout the lighter months, with sport, activities, food and plenty going on each week.
