Yesterday was a fantastic day at RecordPlanet's Mega Record Fair at Den Bosch, acquiring some fun new discs to play at upcoming nights. Seems Helen and I covered 8 miles just walking around the halls! I believe this may be the biggest record fair in the world? Overwhelming but so much fun!

Our stash included discs from Dire Straits, Poison, Mark Cohn, Skid Row, The Ritchie Family, The Meters, Prince, Sonny & Cher, Bobby O, Jamiroquai, Leonard Cohen, Sister Jane, Tom Browne, Steely Dan, Talking Heads, Booker T & The MGs, AC/DC, Rufus Thomas, Roy Orbison... and a shedload more.

DECEMBER is looking busy for Mrs R's Retro Roadshow - it's going to be a fantastic season full of some fantastic discs 🎶

SAT 6 DEC we'll be at The Red Shed for our Crimbo Wow residential, expect all sorts of top cheese alongside our regular rock 'n' indie fare from the 60s to the 00s. I've got some brilliant weird-and-wonderful Christmas songs too... 🎄

SUN 7 DEC is a new one as I'll be spinning seasonal classics at Chin Chin Brewing Company's Christmas Brewtap, featuring a load of fantastic ales. A proper p***up in a brewery and I'm over the moon to be bringing the tunes! Wear your Christmas jumpers! 🍻

WED 31 DEC is the New Year's Eve bash where once again I'll be taking to to the turntables at The Prince of Purston for a stunning night. Free in, drinks specials, needle goes down at 7pm and goes on until the small hours (with bells at midnight, naturally!). Come help us see in 2026! 🍾

Three absolute 90s bangers discovered last week, all cleaned and ready to go! Madison Avenue "Don't Call Me Baby", Robin S "Show Me Love" and Jamiroquai "Virtual Insanity". Discs from around this time are invariably jukebox-only releases (because nobody was buying records but there were still tons of vinyl jukeboxes in pubs!).

Stunning Hallowe'en night at The Prince of Purston - thanks so much for having me! We went on until about 1:30am, but I'm sorry if I didn't get to your request, it was super-busy! It was also the first time I judged a fancy dress competition I think! Kudos to the chap who was asking for the full 12" of Welcome To The Pleasuredome - maybe next time!

I'm back at The Prince of Purston on New Years' Eve, but in the meantime I'm back at The Red Shed on Saturday night for our regular Wow residential.

Sat 8 Nov, Fri 12 Dec, Sat 13 Dec, Fri 19 Dec, Sat 20 Dec, Fri 26 Dec, Sun 28 Dec all free at the moment. Drop me a line for a chat - great rates and something different to your usual disco. Principally covering West Yorkshire but can go a bit further afield if need be!

Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who came to WX Wakefield today - it was fab to see some familiar faces who've been to previous discos, and lots of new folk too. Great to see young children asking for AC/DC, Bowie and - obviously - Thriller! We even had a bit of a diversion into more recent stuff with a 7" from KPop Demon Hunters, a bit of Lady Gaga, and some Mika.
