🌅 IBIZA THEN & NOW 🌅

Having just returned from a week in scorchio Ibiza, I found myself seeing a different side of the island.

In all my years of visiting, would spend time at Café del Mar or at Hostal La Torre (For the sunset) – places many people associate with the island's famous sunsets.

Instead, we found ourselves drawn time and again to Caló des Moro, watching glorious sunsets alongside locals, families and fellow sunset seekers.

What struck me most was that beyond the headlines, Ibiza's soul is still very much alive.

We drank in bars where prices were sensible and hospitality came first. Our stay at Hotel Gran Sol summed this up perfectly – friendly, welcoming and refreshingly down to earth.

We spent hours at Aquarium Cap Blanc, discovering another side of San Antonio and being reminded that there's far more to Ibiza than clubs and beach bars. The sea may have got in the way of a few walks! 😄

Yes, Ibiza has changed.

But if you wander a little further, explore a little deeper and slow down enough to watch the sunset, you'll find the island's magic is still exactly where it has always been.

☀️ A little different from our usual Balearic posts today.

After recently having several skin carcinomas removed, I felt it was worth sharing something personal.

For many of us, Ibiza is sunshine, freedom, music and unforgettable memories. But the Mediterranean sun deserves respect.

Years ago I never thought much about sunscreen, hats or shade.
Today I wish I had.

If you're heading to Ibiza this summer:

💧 Stay hydrated
🌅 Enjoy more sunsets and fewer hours in the midday sun

Having just returned from another wonderful week on the island, we opted for a hire car this time and found it a very affordable way to explore Ibiza.

That said, next time we may rely more on taxis, and it got me thinking...

I've seen stories claiming visitors are paying much more than expected using ride-hailing apps, while others say finding a taxi during peak season can still be a challenge.

So, over to the Ibiza veterans:
