ORDER BOOK OPEN

This week, I made this lovely cake for James's 50th Birthday. It's become very clear to me whilst painting this cake how much I still enjoy making cakes and the happiness it brings others, I just need to change the way I run my business slightly going forward. I've decided to re open my order book, but I will be taking orders for Hand painted cakes only

This weekend we celebrated 60 years of Andrew Johnston

Andrew and Janice were pretty relaxed about the brief the cake as long as included his new John deere 185 6R with a countryside scene.

Now I've known Andrew for an awful long time and I knew his business was a huge part of his life (and I know exactly what that's like) so I knew I wanted his cake to reflect this.

I wanted to include his whole contracting team and High Burnthwaite into the design and the bottom tier is loosely based on silage Pit at Welton farm so this cake a bit sentimental for me too.

I think anyone who knows Andrew would agree this cake just about sums him up apart from the lack of a checked shirt 🤣

They opted for a similar design to a previous order I had made for the company back in February with the hand painted electric truck details

Topped with a sugar model DAF truck

It's been an absolute pleasure to be commissioned by the biggest independent commercial vehicle group in the UK, and I'm looking forward to working alongside them again in the future

Yesterday I travelled down to the South lakes to a new Venue for me Silverholme, Graythwaite Estate
Siobhan and Steven wanted a hand painted wedding cake to reflect their love for the lakes, Siobhan's sports horse, their 2 dogs, VW camper van and their favourite Ambleside pub The Golden Rule. (bonus points if anyone can name the Pub)

Yesterday we travelled down to clithroe for Victoria and Richards big day. I knew from the start that this cake was going to a special one.

The cake features the couples montbeliarde dairy heard, case tractors, New Holland combine, Victoria's donkey's and goats, and their Labrador

And a huge thank you to Richard for treating me and my dad to lunch at the local pub for travelling such a long way with the cake

Back to Easter weekend, I travelled across to Harrogate my first trip out of the county of the year.

Huge congratulations to Louise and Adam, who were married at the stunning

Louise and Adam wanted a wedding cake to reflect their love for their life on the farm. They wanted to incorporate their own farm, and dairy heard into the design and also Louise's zwable sheep and their dalmatian Millie.
