The only European radio show to exclusivity promote Indigenous musicians, bands and artists of North America. Originally inspired by the Standing Rock protests of 2016/17, whilst watching videos produced in solidarity with the protests. I found a number of bands and artists that I’d never heard before and decided to delve further into the indigenous music scene of N. I found a treasure trove of mu

sic (but also a huge amount of info on the marginalised indigenous communities). I started to put together a show featuring only indigenous artists from America, Central America Canada and Greenland, so Tunes from Turtle Island was born. Non profit station Resonance 104.4 FM took the show and started broadcasting it on the London airwaves in 2018. Since then its been taken up by Radio Agora (A) Radio Freequenns (A) and Radio Onde Furlane (I) and is also podcast weekly. Strictly a one man voluntary project, my ‘studio’ consists of a desktop PC/laptop, a headset, midrange pro microphone and a copy of the free audio editing program Audacity.
