And so it’s June again and the peonies and roses are in full fig. They arrived early this year with all the warm May sunshine (despite the lack of 🌧️). Welcome to my favourite month for flowers if I had to pick just one.

It was great to celebrate Chelsea gold yesterday with all these wonderful, inspiring women. First pic: Fran and Carrie of , second pic: Julie Dunk of the ICCM, third pic: the incomparable Gill Hodgson who is my co-founder of Directory whose Chelsea display is starting a lot of long overdue conversations around funerals and funeral flowers; and finally my big sis who set me off on this path and Barb who was my passport to teaching in Indonesia. - you’ve all been formative influences one way or another!

We did the thing people told us we couldn’t do. We took funeral flowers and a coffin to the most prestigious flower show in the world and we won GOLD🏅

Last wedding quotation now finished and I can spend tomorrow frantically planting before I leave Birmingham for Chelsea Flower Show on Friday morning.The display will soon start taking physical form and won’t just be something that fills the heads(and living rooms and cars 😆) of and . I’m trying to channel the serenity of these tulips in that gorgeous pink porcelain - hallmark of local potter and her work. They make me feel calmer just looking at them. Onwards!
